Do you mean that the prices are the same for the Royal and the Gran Porto?? Real is the name of the resort company name ("The Real Resorts"), so I'm not sure if you are referring to the actual resorts themselves, or not....

Hey Jess -
I just contacted Jill the other day and heard back from her. Are you still using her as your TA? I just want to find someone who will try to find the best rates and is helpful....

Thanks for the recommendation! I think I'll email TA Jill tomorrow to see if she can put in the request to switch coordinators. While almost all of the planning will be done by me, I'm just not ready to spend the next 16months frustrated by cryptic and/or non-existent communication.

Also...I think it would be seriously funny if we kept a running tally of the bride vs. royal score!!!!!! Go Team Bride!

I completely agree with you about checking out your options before you make a decision. You don't want to have any regrets!! I was planning to wait until I was a year out from our wedding before shopping but when I was home for Christmas, my mom and sister wanted to check out the local bridal boutique. Happily, the Spring 2010 dresses were already in the store. It was a blast and as a result, I'm now totally addicted!!!
I saw two dresses that I loved but the boutique didn't have one dress that I'm dying to try on...hence the trip this Friday here in DC. The dress is the Maggie Sottero Anniston.

I can't wait to hear about the shopping trips and see everyone's dresses. I think I love clothes a little too much ;-)

Oh, and Jess...you're website is AMAZING. Good job girl!
I know what you mean by addicted! I've been online non stop and looking through magazines for dresses. It's so much fun!

That dress is gorgeous!! The one I really love is La Sposa Lena (without the straps) and also a Jim Hjelm
Weddings Gowns Gifts, The Knot

I have two appointments this Saturday so I'm really hoping to try it on.

Can't wait to see everyone's dress...Happy Shopping :)

At first, she was slow and non-existent. I kindly asked her to follow up and etc...being sweet is the only way to go! Now she gets back to me the same day or next day. If I don't hear from her for a few days then I email her again. Remember, kill them with kindness and always show gratitude. I've learned that it can get you far! :) Good luck!

I'm getting married in May too. I was worried about that, but the beach reception isn't until 5:30pm. I hear it cools down with a light breeze by then.

I have seen the ballroom pics though from another bride on this forum who posted her pics and it looked really nice. Is your wedding this May?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
