I have FINALLY received my contract from my WC. I sent her a long email explaining how I didn't think it was fair that I would be charged $400 for having my wedding after 4pm when she was the one who never sent me a contract. She explained for getting off on the wrong foot and agreed to waive the fee. I'll be sure to save that email!! Needless to say, I am a bit relieved! Lets hope the rest of the planning goes a bit smoother.
Thats wonderful news!!! I feel like its the show Man Vs Food but in this case its Bride Vs The Royal and Bride wins yay!!!! lol

Oh man, I literally laughed out loud at this because it's SO true. The smallest victory and I am THRILLED!!!

On another note, I sent a very well thought out, detailed email with numbered questions to Doreen last week and got an email back. She responded to only one of my questions which was in regard to the time of my wedding in May. Her response was:

"hi
would you like me make the changes to the times of your wedding thanks"

Seriously?? Do you guys think that it's worth trying to change coordinators? This is just absurd.

I did, I could not stand her. However Angie was not much better. But Doreen, I thought maybe she was on drugs. Every time I called she never knew who I was and got all the info wrong. Along the lines of "oh hi yes your the wedding for 20 people on July 4th" "uhhhhh nooooooo November 12th for 100 people" It was terrible. I was also always sending e-mails with questions and they were never answered. Does anyone know of someone in that office who is competant?

Zulma is still around.. as a matter of fact I got an email back from her today! The wonderful Zulma has assured me that I do not have to worry about a thing as far as all the new fees, my prior booking still stands, no new fees. She is really great!

Hopefully everyone else has similar luck!

I'm also going dress shopping on Friday so I'm a happy bride smile123.gif

Does anyone else have big wedding planning goals for the week?
Yikes, I am only 4 months out from our wedding date and there is sooooo much to do! Sit tight ladies, it flies by in the end! This week my goal is to finish my registry by Saturday and get my passport this weekend. I can't believe I've waited on that for so long! Too much other stuff going on I guessshots.gif

Also, I got an update that we have 32 booked already! I still have at least 10 more that need to book as well. So excited!!!!

I also had Doreen and changed her. I got Angie now. To be completely honest I haven't really sent a whole lot of messages regarding the wedding to Angie. I think we emailed 17 times. It took her a bit to get back to me but I was just patient and waited. She will get back to you eventually. I'm thinking that these US coordinators handle more than just The Royal. I think they handle all of their sites, which is a lot of brides to get straight. I decided to take things into my own hands and just plan everything myself and when I get down there I'm telling them what I want done and where everything should go. Took a lot of stress off of me that way. I do have a ton of info though if you need it just let me know.

are there any brides out there who are having, or who have had, their reception in the ballroom? i know most people have theirs outdoors and it turns out amazing, but we kind of prefer to have ours indoors.....to give it more of a 'traditional' feel. we will be having about 60 guests and have the dj booked. i've just heard so much about the beach receptions, i was just curious :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
