I know that they won't give any discounts off the package price but you might be able to get longer video coverage in exchange....I'm pretty sure that I've heard of other brides who have been able to arrange this.

I had to call the first time and she said she sent me info to my aol account but said that she has issues with aol users- then the email miraculously popped up while I was speaking to her.

So I emailed back my booking info/deposit from hotmail to be on the safe side. Nada. Sent another ...zip.

FI just called and she told him she had already emailed back the confirmation and that if he has further inquiries, please email. Funny. Btw, no email confirmations at either email account (also checked junk/spam).
Yes, Angie tried to tell me the other day I had not filled out my booking form yet, which I did in August!! Caused me quite a scare, but all was settled when my travel agent contacted her :).

If your working with a TA I would have her call her. Angie is really terrible with getting back to you and following through.

I finally got my TA involved and it was the only way to get answers.

I agreee with Jescam. Booking with a travel agent will save you a lot of stress. I'm also using Jill and she's been terrific. Not only will she book our guests but she's a great resource in dealing with the Royal's wedding coordinators. PLUS...when your guests have travel questions or issues, they'll go to the TA and not you, allowing you to relax!
My first instinct was to go through a TA, however I've heard from other girls on this site that once they got to PDC (at either the Royal or the Gran) their rooms got bumped, but the girls who went directly through the hotel did not have this problem. Have you heard anything about this or have any concerns with this happening to you?

No kidding. After my FI called her yesterday, she DID email me, but with the same introductory info, booking, credit sheet, etc. WTF? I had already faxed her that info...grr.

Called again today and was told they have problems with their email system...

I was in touch right away, though I booked 8 months before my wedding.

Hope this helps!

Jen,
Thanks for your post. I got in contact with our WC and gave her the package we want to use. I'm sure things are a bit crazy with the holidays. Hopefully she'll send me my contract soon!

what the heck? I'm so glad she is not my US WC or I would have flew over there and demanded her to do her damn work! Why isn't this person fired yet? That just baffles me.

Thanks :)
Hi,
We plan on staying at the Royal after our wedding as our unofficial honeymoon. I think it is a great honeymoon spot with its close proximity to town, the ferry to Cozumel, or a quick trip to Tulum. I love the adults only concept which makes relaxing by the pool peaceful. When we stayed last time we were in a jr. ocean view suite. It was very nice, all with 2 person jacuzzi tubs in the rooms. This time around we are doing the swim up suites which are right off the pool. Hope this helps.

I am with you Lady Di this is totally unbelievable. And the worst part is Angie is the manager there!! I can't believe she has not been fired yet either.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
