Sorry i've been MIA lately on the board ladies! After we got back from Mexico, we had our at-home reception 2 weeks later.. so it's been a very busy November! Everyone that are getting married at Royal soon, trust me you won't be disappointed! Even hurricane Ida couldn't ruin my wedding. The Royal grounds were beautiful and the staff was beyond accommodating. We will be returning to the hotel again soon! P.S. Elizabeth Medina is sooo amazing at what she does and is such a sweet heart! My husband and I really enjoyed working with her. I highly recommend her to anyone that is still in search of a photographer!
beautiful pictures!! congrats!

It looks pretty small and if i rememember correctly from our site visit on where this is located, it is a small hallway of an area. Are you worried? I know your having a big wedding too, can you imagine having like 75 people standing in that hallway, Pray it won't rain! lol =)
Hahah ya we are going to need to do our sun dance! It was small but very long. Not the ideal choice but at least there is a backup.

i don't know if anyone else has experienced this....but my travel agent contacted the royal on monday, to double check that it is ok i use ivan (i was just about to sign my contract with him to hold the date). at first, they said yes, that they go through him and he is a 'preferred dj'. then they responded with a 'new policy' saying that you cannot book him directly, and you must go through the royal, otherwise he won't be allowed to even enter. i emailed ivan and he told me the same thing, and i must book through the royal. so my travel agent got it figured out where he is booked through the royal, for $1100, but that includes the music AND the light up floor (on his site he had quoted me the same price for both). but i just wanted to let you know, incase he says he can't book you directly. you can book him through the royal for pretty much the same price. i was worried at first....but now i'm very excited!

hey there!

I booked ivan for my wedding, and it was Angie my WC who gave me his email address to contact. She nor did anyone tell me we had to go through the hotel. i am not too worried about this, for the past 11 months in reading these posts, its pretty certain that the people who work for the Royal cannot seem to get their facts straight or insynch!

I guess one thing i am curious about - since Ivan is a preferred vendor, do you guys know if this means we have to pay the $100 outside vendor fee for him? has anyone told you this?

jesmcan, did you know about this?
I was just told on 12/1 from my WC Suzanna that I would not have to pay the $100 vendor fee since Ivan is a preferred vendor.

Agreed! It's so frustrating!! You hear one thing from your WC and several variations from the ladies on here depending who their WCs are. Most of my correspondence with my WC is via email so at least everything is in writing :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
