Also, do you know what salad and soup your requested? Thanks for such a wonderful review of your wedding, Congrats!!
I am happy we did cocktail hour in the garden...it was like we had 3 different venues for our wedding...also, it gave them time to set up our reception

Thanks for giving all of us the heads up! I have aunts/uncles with kids so we'll definitely have some guests at the Gran but it's so helpful to know that this is an issue that we're going to need to pay A LOT of attention to. I'm going on a site visit this May and I plan to get all of these details in writing and also provide them to my guests at the Gran.

Tracey, how many people did you have at the Gran?

I think I am going to Fedex a box with my wedding supplies to The Royal , Attention: My wedding coordinator. When i went for my site visit, she gave me her business card and said to ship my items to her, and ship a month prior to ensure it gets delivered.

Is anyone else thinking of doing this?

Hi Adriana.... I just returned from my wedding at The Royal. I'm going to try and do a review very soon... but, I saw your post and thought I would give you a heads up. So, I ended up shipping ALL of my items to The Royal. I had a total of 6 boxes. It was a bit stressful because about 4 of my boxes got stopped by customs... but, they ended up going through. I had one box that they would not allow and it is because it had shells in the box. Something I did not know - shells are not allowed into Mexico. Who would have thought. It all ended up working out because they shipped the box back to us and we ended up bringing it with us and got through without any problem. What would you be shipping? I have to admit it was awesome having everything there when I arrived, but it was a little stressful making sure it got through customs. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

How far in advance did you send it? I'm worried because my TA said that packages typically won't make it to Mexico. I guess they get "lost". I just had a horrific experience with my bridesmaids jewelry getting "lost". It was supposed to be shipped to me and the company my work hires to get our mail apparently misplaced it and now I'm out a ton of money. I got them all Tiffany necklaces...huge bummer! I would hate to have that happen again.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
