ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

I've read a ton of great reviews about Ivan...brides love him and always say that he gets everyone dancing. I contacted him last week and he got back to me the same day with rates and answers to my questions.

In other news...FI and I booked our trip to the Royal for a site visit this May. We'll be there exactly one year before our wedding...I'm calling it our negative one year anniversary :-) Can't wait!!!

HELP! I'm planning a site visit this month and I don't know who to talk to at Royal. Our room is booked (along with other people), but the person I'm dealing with is not very helpful. (actually it's been stressful) Who do I get into contact with directly at the hotel? what are others doing about makeup and hair? How is the resort's photographer? I'm so overwhelmed and lost!

Thanks so much!!

I've been dealing with Angie Hayes - (the US wedding coordinator), and have found her to be not very helpful. It takes weeks for her to respond to an email, and then she doesn't even answer my questions! I think my wedding coordinator at The Royal will be Zulma. Has anyone been in communication with her that can give me her email address? Or suggest how do I get in touch with someone at The Royal? My wedding is Feb. 5th, and I'd like to make some rehearsal dinner and spa reservations, and can't get my WC to respond to me so I can get something booked!

Has anyone else had these issues? How far in advance do I need to have these sorts of things booked?

I've heard nothing but good things about him, and have booked him for my wedding of Feb. 5th as well. He is the DJ that the resort uses, but it is much cheaper to book directly with him than going through the resort.

wow, my US WC has been excellent...yes sometimes she takes a day or two to reply to my emails but she always replies to my emails. Her name is Kimberly. There should be a phone number for Angie so you can call her directly...the best effective way to get replies is to be polite and firm. At first Kimberly was taking a while to reply to my emails so I had emailed her and said something like this "i appreciate all you do and i would greatly appreciate if i heard something back on my inquiries. you are one of people that can help with my wedding planning so hope to hear from you soon" Just be nice...of course, if she STILL doesnt reply then you can be a b*tch lol, just kidding. Hope everything works out!

I am dealing with the same issue with my WC. I have thought about requesting a new one, but I figure once I am there is when It will count, and I have heard wonderful things about the wedding coordinators on site. I guess we have to expect that they take day/weeks to get back to us. I just keep emailing the same one, she eventually gets back, haha.

Zulma's email is: zdominguez@realresorts.com

She is wonderful! I am not having any problems with her!

Thanks Steph! I have Doreen as my US coordinator and from what I've heard and experienced, she's FAR less than helpful. If I remember correctly, I think JesCam actually had to ask to be moved to a different coordinator.

Anyway, it will be great to have Zuma's contact info for the questions that really matter.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
