ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Ok I've got a question, I want to have my wedding planner through the Royal since that is where we are probably going to stay, but I want a Catholic wedding at the Chapel of Nuestra Señora del Carmen. Since the Royal in PDC doesn't have a Catholic vendor on site, would I still be able to buy their catholic wedding package (with all their included entities), yet use the church I want?

I think this question can be answered by the wedding coordinator. Why don't you e-mail them? They do have a church in Cancun which is just breathtaking.

Instead of complaining, you could have just asked for help and one of us would have e-mailed you the stuff you needed.

Yeah, Kimberly said it included food/drinks!

Other things we learned:
1. guests staying @ GPR, certain suite level includes free ALL ACCESS to the Royal restaurants/bars!!! Jennifer said to email her about which suite level this is with
2. no more $60 3day pass for GPR guests to the Royal sad.gif They do have day passes and night passes to purchase separately, but they didn't give us the rates so you'll have to check w/your WC. Or just make sure they stay in the suites from #1 and no worries!
3. 10people per round table; so you can estimate how many tables you'll need to decorate
4. white chair covers are included in all wedding packages. colored ribbon can be added for $5/chair
5. webcam for wedding = $300
6. centerpiece included in every package (unless otherwise notated) - one lg/medium sized ivory candle per table. I'm pretty sure she said in a hurricane but not 100%
7. need to have wedding package, food, etc decided at least 45days prior to wedding
8. resort staff puts up your decorations you bring to them FREE of charge
9. if photographer is staying @ GPR or Royal, you don't have to pay the outside vendor fee

That's my summary. I know there was some more, but that is what pertained to me directly. Hope it helps!
Thanks for typing that out. I definitely didn't know the centerpieces are included! I don't see it in the package. I will clarify with Kimberly.

From what I understand it doesn't matter which package you choose... you only get one entree selection. I think the only difference in the meals and packages are that the Luxury and ultimate Luxury packages include a 4 course meal and the others include a 3 course meal.

It can be frustrating but it's these policies that keep the forum vibrant ! If only a few participated and posted while the rest just came in down loaded what they wanted/needed and then left, the forum would have died a long time ago! By requiring participation it ensures that every member is active to the degree that they take!

You can always contact the resorts yourself for the info if you don't have time to participate.

Plus teh forum is free for you to use ! However it costs the owner quite a bit to set up & maintain- so she gets to make the rules!

So now I have to have them all pay $145/person the day of my wedding? Is that right? It seems so unfair.crybaby2.gif
No way, from what Kimberly told us, it is FREE for our guests on the day of wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
