ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hi Violetmal,

your pictures are awesome and you look so pretty! congrats again!

Did you get your hair and makeup done at the salon on the resort? If so, did you like how they did it or would you recommend getting your makeup and hair somewhere else?

Also, I've been told the reception on the beach has to end at 11pm, do they really enforce this rule? Is someone from the resort there waiting to end the party right at 11pm? What time did you guys end ?

Thanks so much!

Adriana

Thank you!! :)

We did get our hair and makeup done at the resort since it was included in my package. I can't say we were 100% happy... one of my bridesmaids almost burst into tears because she hated her hair, but they were able to fix it and she looked beautiful. We all ended up having to "tweak" our makeup as it wasn't really colors we would have chosen for ourselves, and my eye makeup was way too heavy (I asked for a smokey eye with browns). I also wish I would have worn my hair up - it didn't really turn out how I had imagined and since it was SO HUMID out there, all my curls went flat in like an hour...

As far as the reception goes - the cutoff time is 11:30pm. If you still have energy to party afterwards, I suggest walking over to the Blue Parrot (maybe change out of your wedding gown first - lol) :) But Jason and I were so exhausted we just went straight up to the room where they had a romantic surprise waiting for us! The in-suite jacuzzi is very nice!!!

Check out Lincoln & Lori at Moments that Matter Photography. Their rates are reasonable and you get full rights to the digital photos. They also make you a beautiful slideshow set to music which we showed during our AHR. They are very creative and work as a team so they really capture every moment!! I'm not sure what their current rates are so I suggest contacting them directly.

Their email address is contact@momentsthatmatterphotography.com, and their website is MEXICO Destination Wedding Photography, Wedding Photojournalism throughout the Mayan Riviera.

I am thinking about using Funever for our photos but not sure if they will deliver on the quality. Is it a one man company? From what the lady told me, there are 4 weddings on the same day and she said that someone booked a 6pm wedding on the same day as mine. My wedding is at 4pm. I'm wondering if Funever has a bunch of photographers. I am going with Claudia Rodriguez but I saw pictures on Funever's website and they seem nice. I am just trying to decide if I should save money and go with Funever since I won't have to pay $200 in vendor fees and have Claudia and her team as guests for reception and go with Claudia for my TTD.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
