ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Jesmcann,

Do you happen to have any documents on the buffet options you could maybe email to me? Angie from CondoVilla World told me that the plated dinner was the only option! We wanted to keep things more casual too with a buffet but i wasn't even told it was an option! Surprising its more expensive but my guess is because they have to make so much more food than with a plated dinner?

If you have anything, my email address is erazo_adriana@yahoo.com.

Thanks,

Adriana

Hi Royal Brides,

My name is Angie and I'm new to the forum! I am also thinking of a desti at The Royal next summer. I'm traveling to Playa del Carmen in 2 weeks to do a site visit. I've been reading all 144 pages of forum chat and I'm so much more informed and excited to start planning a wedding at The Royal! Thanks so much for all of your insights!

I'll be at The Royal in two weeks if anyone wants me to ask any specific questions or report back to to the forum let me know!

Hey Lexibirde,

Sounds like your reception is private since it is in the garden. Semi-private is less $...all it consists of is a reservation at one of the restaraunts for your entire group, and there is a specific meunu. There are still other hotel guests in the restarunt though. We decided to do this because we are having a reception back in Texas once we get home where we plan to invite everyone who was at the wedding plus a lot more. While I really wanted a private on the beach we just cant swing the cost of that plus a reception back home. My fiance is freaking out because we are paying for everything, and we just bought a house...not to mention he has no clue what a wedding really costs and doesn't get why people even do weddings. He would reather go to the court house...lol

You should be able to have children, but you can always ask to make sure. =)

Hi Cyndi,
we had a few dinners at the Gran...my suggestion would be the italian, we had dinner there for my father's birthday and it was the best of the gran as far as I could tell. We also went to maria at the gran...it was good but most of the other places were better in my opinion.

Hi Ladies, I have a few guest pictures..sneak peak!

I was married in my maggie two weeks ago and I can't wait to put it back on for our AHR.

Here are a few guest pics

I was admiring my maggie!

Here we are on the beach...waiting for our vows...because everyone else thought someone else had them!

whoops...10 minute intermission during the ceremony! blush2.gif

There were a lot of spectators. I didn't notice them to much during the ceremony, but I did see the guy who physically pushed my photographer out of the isle so he could get a picture!!

Also something to keep in mind with your hair. The salon did an amazing job on my hair..it was all incredible ringlets in the back...that fell out on the 2 minute walk to my room...totally not their fault...it was just SO HUMID and the curls just fell right out

Thank you! It was such a fun week.

I did welcome bags, but I gave them out at out welcome dinner in the buffet.

My original plan was to have them in the room...but plans do not always happen once you get there and everything is so busy!

Everyone loved them...honestly people were just so happy to be there, the resort will make you look good!

Hey all , it's been awhile! I can't believe how fast time is going, just had our engagemet party last week and I'm so excited for Mexico. Congrats to Maybride & tighteywhitey, beautiful pics! I just have a questions, way back in the thread emengeeroxx says that he has to pay 20 extra for gran porto real guests coming over to the royal for reception but my TA was told that guests of any real resorts were NOT extra (unless above package number and then still were cheaper price), does anyone know what the deal is here?

Thanks, Kim

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
