ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Just to make sure I looked through my materials from the Royal, this is what it says:

•How late can last the reception at night?

•At the beach until 11PM and the Garden until 10PM. In the ballroom of the Gran Porto until 11PM, in the ballroom of the Royal there is no limit of time.

•If I want to stay longer at my reception dinner is there an extra charge?

•Yes, 10 USD per person per extra hour. It will include the location, service and open bar. If your wedding is in an external area and you would like to have extra hours later than the time allowed, depending on the availability, we could move the group to the ball room.

And, on the reception sheet that you fill out and turn in it says 4 hours. So I supposed you would pay for additional hours. Probably need to check with the WC. But I hope that clears up some confusion. Basically like I previously said, you can be on the beach till 11 but it depends when your reception started...

Personally I'm not going to worry too much about it, I'll just head to a club if the party is still going....

Thanks for this, Stephanie. I never received or was asked to fill out a 'reception sheet' so this explains why I'd never heard of this before.

Hey girls

I am just curious of everybody's reaction to the swine flu stuff. I know that there are about 10 of us who are getting ready to board a plane this coming week and through the next 3 weeks. I assume this will be handled by the time we get to the June brides. I leave in 2 weeks and have gotten panicked calls allday today. My bridesmaid is pregnant and bringing a one year old and she is is freaking out and calling her doctor in the am. I am trying to keep the freak outs to a minimum and going to call our doctor also in the am to see how hard it is to get the tamaflu for our guests. I just don't even want to think of the alternatives. I read that one girl is leaving in the am and has had 4 cancellations so far but feeling for us royal girls since you are the ones I keep up with on a regular basis. At the end of the day its just a really horrible flu and likely the people who are getting really sick or dying are in poor health to begin with. I just really hope that all our weddings can continue as plan and that they will be as incredibly as all the others that we all have heard about.....

agreed and I did not do that on this trip, likely a mistake and have a feeling that most others also did not. At the end of the day we have no idea how it is going to turn out and we have 46 people coming along that we have to worry about so if they didn't buy the insurance its too late to buy it now.

Thanks for sharing the link. It really sounds like the media is blowing this whole Swine flu thing so out of proportion. I just got a call from a friend asking if i'm thinking about changing the location of my November wedding because of this. Her mom is already starting a fuss about it. Ridiculous.

I do not think it's a cause for concern. Like the article said.. a typical flu season kills 40,000 people in the U.S. each year. Does that mean we should all not leave our houses or wear gas masks during flu season?

I KNOW!!! I am so angry about the whole thing right now...mostly because my "I'M SO SMART, I KNOW EVERYTHING" cousin is planting more seeds of doubt in my mom and dads heads (that I quickly try to stomp out) and...GRR...It is so frustrating.

GAH!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
