I hate to say it but most of us guys don't pay too much attention to invitations or save the dates. So many weddings I have been part of the other guys are always asking the other people "when is the wedding?, what time? where again"? even though they all received invitations with all the details.

My fiancee and I are butting heads right now about invitations. I don't want to spend too much time or money on them because as a guy I cannot honestly remember one invitation I have received in the 20+ weddings I have been to in the last 3 years. Yes this includes even the ones I have been a part of. I only remember the food, the drinks, the music and the overall party of a particular wedding.

I know the sentiment is the same for my wedding. Most guys just check online for updates or on our Facebook group. I can guarantee any invite we send will be used as a coaster lol.

Emengeeroxx- Ok well I assume you want another woman's 3rd party opinion? You need to compromise a little on this. Although the invites are not important to you, they are to your bride. I assume like every other girl she has been dreaming of this day and wants everything to be perfect, including the invite. Should she spend a fortune on them? NO. But she should be able to find something she is happy with that you can agree to spend the money on. Are you guys DIY people? You could save a ton of money and get what you want doing it yourself.

The invite sets the tone for the whole wedding, she just wants it to be perfect.

Thanks everyone for letting me vent and for your comments on all your similar problems.

I guess I will just have to get on the phone when the time comes to book and see if they want to pre-book with us or not.

I'm taking a big step just going ahead and confirming our wedding! I got laid off a couple weeks ago, so pretty soon won't have quite the same money coming in! But I have my heart set on having this wedding at the Royal, so we are just going to do it, and hope that another good job comes along QUICK! shots.gif

Thankfully we still have time to save. And I've got time to look for something I will enjoy. Oh - I picked up my dress the other day to keep at my mom's until it's a bit closer to the time to do any alterations...I tried it on again (all by myself) but took some pics :) I'm going to try and post them here... smile72.gif

mmm I thought I just did a big message just a minute ago,...but it doesn't seem to be here. Sorry if it is and I'm just going again!

I wanted to say thanks for letting me vent! and thanks for your comments. I guess it's nice to know it's not just me lol. Sucks that it happens to all of us though!

Do you know how I can post pictures on here? Am I not able to attach JPG's?

I wanted to show you my wedding dress... smile72.gif

I am very DIY and good at that stuff. I honestly just think it's a waste of time and money. I'll probably end up doing it but I would have rather used that money to pay for more playing time for my live band. I think of it as a necessary evil, like paying taxes :)

We will probably be doing both the traditional old school invites as well as following up with electronic invites. Pretty much all of our friends our age prefer the e-invites as they can easily upload to their PDAs, while the older people are the only ones who would make use out of the traditional paper invitation.

Oh well I guess everyone can use extra coasters for their homes.

We did our own invitations too...and they turned out better than a lot of the stuff we were looking at onine...and half the price! Can't beat that. I think you should compromise on this one too. I know guys don't think it is a big deal, but I'm sure it is important to your FI.

We are leaving in 2 weeks and I still haven't heard anything from Zulma....I am freaking out here!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
