Hello fellow RPDC brides!  I've been sporadically reading this thread since I booked my wedding a few months ago (all of your comments have been so helpful!), now that the big day is getting closer, I figured it was about time to dive in.

I'm getting married at the RPDC on September 7th, ceremony at the gazebo, cocktail hour in the garden and reception in the ballroom.  I'm really hoping we'll only have around 150 guests, my fiance and I wanted something smaller than that, but my parents got a little excited/carried away with the invites so there's a chance it could be even bigger!

I had been working with Bety and things had been going well, but after about a month of her not responding to my emails, Erik in the groups department emailed me and said she had gone to work at another hotel.  Erik was really helpful, but I had a feeling he wasn't going to be my contact for the long haul since he was in a different department.  I emailed Erik a bunch of questions the other day and he responded to me and said Patty Romero would be helping me from now on.  She reached out to me yesterday and she thought I was looking to book a wedding... I wasn't all that surprised (or offended) that she wasn't in the loop because of all the changes that had gone over there, but it was still a little weird that Erik hadn't at least briefly filled her in before referring her to me...  Anyway, I told her we'd already booked and she's supposed to be getting me in touch with a new WC soon, hopefully it's a good one!

Overall, I feel like I'm a little behind on the planning process.  I've found my dress, narrowed down a few choices for bridesmaid dresses, booked the rehearsal dinner at the hotel, and booked the wedding photographer (Melissa from del Sol).  And I've gone absolutely crazy on pinterest.  :)  I feel like I still have a lot to do!!  It's going to be here before we know it!

Congrats to you too! Even though we are not at same Royal, Im sure we can compare notes! I received all my options to choose (cakes, flowers, etc.). I have not made any selections yet, but based on the brides here, we know we will have the tres leeches cake (the one not listed)! Are you bringing any decorations?

Hi brides! I'm at the Royal PDC as I type. My wedding was Friday & it was AMAZING! We had hiccups due to weather but I got my gazebo ceremony & my cocktail hour was on a patio & reception was in a ballroom. Lili (my onsite WC) was fab, everything was set up perfectly, and we had the most amazing time. No rain during the ceremony, thank God! I'll do a full review & answer questions once we return from our honeymoon in Jamaica, but I'll say the resort is awesome, Lili was great, and I LOVED all of my vendors (Juan Navarro Photo, Cancun Wedding Video, and Maya Diseno Floral.) Oh, and do the TTD if you can! :) Xoxo - Denielle

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
