Just wanted to say HI! I am a newbie getting married at the Royal Playa del Carmen on Friday, November 30, 2012!  It looks like I have a ton of information on here to read through.  Maybe I can get done reading it all in time for the wedding haha.  Looking forward to communicating with fellow brides! :)

If you go to the next link: You will see the 2 beach location, on the left Pelicanos Beach (Some people there playing Volley Ball)  and to the right the North Beach at Gran Porto Real .

I would prefer the most private beach they have with the Real properties in Playa Del Carmen. My WC just told me Pelicano's is the most private out of their beaches and there's a fee to have our ceremony at Pelicanos beach area if we stay at Gran Porto...Just wondering is the $450 fee worth going that route at Pelicano's? Thanks You all & Congrats to All

Just from reading over forums, I've read that many brides split up their OOT items into different luggage. I guess that if you bring more that $300 worth of items in that they will charge you. I've seen many brides that have just split up the items between different family members so they wouldn't be questioned. I've also read that some brides bring their reciepts or make up fake ones to show that the items were not more than $300. Traveling to Mexico you just never know, they may question you, or they may not. I would just be prepared.

Does anyone know what the rules are as far as bringing favors and stuff for your OOT bags to mexico and going through customs?  Do we just need a receipt to prove that we purchased it?

Thanks so much for posting this! I've been to the Royal before but my FI has not, so this was the perfect 360 picture to show him!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
