ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

Well are wedding is coming up quick and I feel like w had alot done. We are doing our own candle luminaries. Actually pretty easy to do if you have any graphic experience. You can buy the paper for like 5.00 a pack! I am having Marvin do my flowers! Gave us some great prices and I am lucky enough to have a florist as my mom's best friends so we are buying flowers in bulk from him and our guest is doing all our butounieres and bridemaids bouquets as well as decor on the chairs and huppa for me! That kept the cost way down!!

Found a really cute idea on Martha Stewart for programs and designed my own menu's, just have to print them all. Table linens, found some great sites for linens and napkins and still cheaper then renting from the resort!

Made out appointments for hair and makeup at the spa. A little frustrated that they have 1 of my brides maids earlier because our photographer is coming to take pic of us all getting ready. Hopefully that will get rectified(anyone else see this problem) Or is anyone here having someone come in to do hair and make up in the room and know a good company. I am just worried they would charge yet another vendor fee for this. Just need to pay off the final payments so I can get switched to my onsite WC..

Really excited picked up my dress and getting alterations started next week!! Everything is coming together!

Won't be long now until I am a mrs.!

I will be watching to see what you get quoted...I selected Cymbidium orchids too....and peonies...and hydrangeas....apparently the top of the price scale with flowers, LOL.... I am curious what this will cost from the other florist too, though I hate to drop Marvin so late in the game, he has been creating mock-ups for me the past couple of weeks and they are GORGEOUS!

Also, thank you for the Florist info! $35 is the best I have seen on BDW yet.

Marvin was quoting me $65 for this I can't wait to see what they will quote me.

Yes, I'm going to bring them... I know from experience that my fiance and I can pack all of our stuff into one suitcase, so I am prepared to bring 1 or 2 down with me with just decor! I am considering the battery powered candles since we are going to be outside. I just think it will be so romantic to have a big cluster of candles on the table when it's outdoors and dark.

Yea, for sure! I think it would look so much better with lights on the table since it can get dark out there.  I was planning on doing something like this with the battery-powered lights as well.

Hey qgirl2,

I asked Marvin about buying bulk flowers, but he said it is not their practice to do that but he would do it - he sounded hesitant though.  If you don't mind me asking, what did he quote you for your bulk flowers? I just want to get some sort of idea. I was planning on having my aunt (florist) make our bouquets, etc.  You can PM me too if you prefer.

A couple of questions for you ladies (I'm still trying to catch up on the forums...on page 646 so far) - sorry if this has been answered.

1. Are we able to transfer our hair/make-up and face saver treatment that comes in the Luxury package to other people (ex: MIL or father)?

2. Can we move the wedding photographer that comes in the package to the rehearsal dinner?

3. Has anyone opted to do the buffet (for 50+ people)? How was this? Which one did you choose?

4. Has anyone walked over to the MAC store to get your make-up done?

5. Are the under-table lights for the beach receptions only? Or can we get them if our reception is in the central garden?

Thanks for your help ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
