My fiance has a question he wanted me to put out here.  Have any of your fiances/husbands done a deep sea fishing excursion.  Who did you use and was it a good experience?

Thanks gals!

We had one booked but unfortunately there was an approaching storm which made the waters choppy and no boats would leave. My brother in law booked it. I'll have to ask him. Relatively quick walk to pier and you get a shirt from them. Luckily everyone was refunded their money with no issues. =)

Ok Royal PDC brides - what's everyone been up to in the wedding planning department?

I ordered my dress a week ago (Allure 8712), and we are finishing up our invitations. We plan on sending out our invites the first week of September with a November 1st RSVP deadline for our April wedding. (Everyone has to be paid in full by February 17th). I've been on Basecamp with Ana and gotten alot of our details hammered out - requested Ivan from Doremixx! Photographer is booked (Juan Navarro), in the process of booking our videographer (Mike from Cancun Wedding Video), and have my bouquet and centerpieces picked out with Marvin. We also booked our honeymoon at Couples Tower Isle in Jamaica. :)

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer!

My fiance had booked a deep sea fishing trip before our April wedding, but it was cancelled as the dock was closed for rough waters. He was told it happens more often then they'd like, so have a plan B!

at this point, I have my dress, veil and shoes (in my posession : ), as well as FI's suit(s) (we got two at a men's warehouse sale). we just finished a frantic weekend assembling invites, and FI is dropping them all the the post office today!! SO excited to see what kind of response we get (but also prepared for no response from many). RSVP date on invites is November 30, 2011 - we just picked an abritrary one, figuring that if people really were planning to take a vacation, they'd be committed six months out. marvin has been slow, but we have a good idea of what we want. overall, the number of people coming will dictate the event (not much sense in having a DJ for 10 peeps ; ). oh, and la luna is booked as our photog. we went with jonathan, but I'd be happy with any of them.

at this point, I think there's little to do outside of keeing people aware of deadlines and just sitting back and waiting for responses. once we have a solid count of attendees, we can plan the additional reception elements, as well as the OOT bags, etc, but I have good ideas for everything thanks to this forum. : )

PS - LOVE ana, right?? she is fab. : )

also, what sort of per night rate are you getting? are you working through a travel agent? the royal's rates increased a few weeks ago, and they're likely going up again September 1. we've told people to make a reservation on booking.com (free cancellation, no reservation fees) so they can re-book if rates drop. I don't know how else to guarantee the lowest price.

thanks!

I feel like time Dec 4 is coming too quickly!

I'm waiting for my invitations, which should arrive next week. My dress and veil are arriving in Nov (Pattis Estee)! I have Elizabeth Medina booked for photography and I'm flying in a videographer. I'm working with Marvin on flowers, but I'm thinking about using pomanders for centerpieces to keep costs down. I have 18 guests booked already and hoping for a few more!

I'm way over budget, running out of time, and super stressed but very happy :)

Love, love, LOVE Ana. She responds SO quickly. I have a friend who is getting married at the Royal 2 weeks after me, and using my TA, and the TA requested Ana and she got her, too. :)

I am using Becky from Beach Bum Vacation as my travel agent. Our rates are available on our website, under the pricing/booking page, if you want to take a look: www.denielleandryan.com :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
