ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hi Roza,

That is beyond ridiculously odd. They give you three choices in which you're allowed to pick whom you want. I wouldn't take that answer. Is this from the online coordinator or your assigned on-site coordinator? Seriously, they get so much money from weddings that they can bend a little to work with you.

I said I wanted a guitarist and that's what I received. LOL.... honestly.... That place cracks me up at times.

I want a harpist to play at our ceremony. The wedding specialist told me that I had to choose 3 instruments and the "union" would send whoever was available between a violinist, harpist, or guitarist. Is she serious?? I don't get to pick the instrument?? Has anyone heard this before?

Also, what are you ladies planning for ceremony music?

Roza,

If I were you, I would just choose whatever u want from the checklist (they have a section on instrument/musicians), and then submit it when u pay ur bill.  We are the client, we pay already a lot, we are bring guests to their resorts!  Thus, WE SHOULD GET what WE WANT, not whoever who is available on that day!

Hi Roza!!

Thank you for your sweet message about my flowers!!! I actually got them from the resort florist! It was included in my package and I was able to choose from the "standard bouquet" catalog and just chose the colors i wanted......They were beyond beautiful!

To answer your below question- I actually had to do the same thing.......basically when filling out the "wedding information" form, we had to choose from 4 instruments by selecting your two 3 choices.......we had the Saxophonist so that was our "1" choice, then Harpist was "2" and Violinist was "3".......... when i met with my WC to go over the details my number 1 choice was what i was granted............So just specify with her now that you WANT the harpist.......I also did not choose the ceremony music, the saxophonist just played what they normally play and it was great!

Let me know if you have any questions.

Always check your final checklist with their invoice (yes, they tend to do mistakes and over-charge and print out all the emails+ bring them with you.  In case, you don't wanna get married at the Royal, you can always use your deposit as credit for future vacation at Real Resorts.  However, the location is hard to beat, and I am sure you are making the right choice. :-)

Kids prices are cheaper (can't remember the price, becuz due to my allergy to kids...I made sure there would be ZERO kids at my wedding...LOL), and they also have a kid menu with American junk food to keep the kids happy.

Mrs Perez,

I saw one during my last year site inspection, it was pretty cool and original.  My hubby aka "FI at that time" found it a bit lame...maybe it was a bit too theatrical for his taste.

Thus, it is all about what you want.

Ok Ladies and Ladies..

my photog, Sascha Gluck, just posted some of my pics on his blog...beautiful pics...and I am so proud of myself for hiring him as our photog (ok hiring and firing are part of my daily life..but still!!!) so happy and can't wait to see the rest of the pics!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
