Oh my God, do I covet your flowers! Like, change my color scheme to incorporate those pink, orange, and yellow flowers! Wow! They were definitely showstoppers! woot.gif

Also, just a heads up my WC said The Royal couldn't put the centerpieces on the tables for me without charging the vendor fee.  I freaked out at first but my aunt and a couple friends put them on the tables for me and the bell- boys from the hotel brought them carts and wheeled it out to the beach for them.

Hi Ladies,

I have enjoyed seeing everyones pictures on here and reading about your weddings.  I have a couple of questions that I am sure some of you could answer.

1.  When would you recommend making contact with the local florist in Playa for a March wedding?  Is there just Marvin or are there others?  What is their contact information?

2.  What is the average amount spent on the OOT bags....my fiance and I were thinking about $50.  Too low or too high?

3.  Has anyone done a catamaran excursion?  We will probably have about 70 guests and would like to hear your opinions on them if you have done it.

I am sure I will think of so many more but I just love this website and all the ladies that have shared their planning tips and ideas!

Congratulations to all you summer brides, my fiance and I saw about 3 take place there in late may and they were all gorgeous!

Andrea

Thanks for the TA advice, ladies! Do any of you know a good travel agent who is familiar with the resort? Also, if I go with a TA then do I still have the option to book through the resort? I want my guests to be able to book through a TA, through the resort, or on their own online.

Thanks Ladies, I heard back from him yesterday and he said everything was good to go.

Nikki- I got my girls, starfish necklaces and a hair pin (up to them if they want it in their hair or not)  pashminas and personalized photo albums.

Hey Ladies!

I love this website and all of the planning details, OOT bag ideas, pictures etc.  All of your ideas and thoughts are greatly appreciated.  I have a couple questions if anyone would like to answer them.....

~ How soon would you recommend contacting the florist in Playa?  What is Marvins contact information?

~ How much on average would you spend on each OOT bag?

~ Is it silly to have ushers for 70 guests?

Looking forward to all your ideas!

Andrea

My June Brides!! What is the deal with this crazy storm I hear that may develop?! As if I need anymore stress!!! Most of our guests arrive on Wednesday - I hope that's before a storm arrives or develops. ARGH!!!

Trying hard to not freak out.

Oh no!  I'm so sorry about the potential storm.  Yikes!  Hope it doesn't occur on your big day.  If it does, I got this great advice from my wedding photographer Ivan Luckie:

He said, whatever you do, it's YOUR wedding day!!!  Lots of brides stress about the clouds/rain etc. and then they end up looking sad in their photos.  You don't want bad weather AND bad photos!  So whatever will be, will be, just relax and smile through it! Make sure your fiance knows its his JOB to make you laugh and smile for photos and distract you from worrying about the weather (they love jobs ;) Also, he said that a lot of the rainy day/storm photos are his favorites because of the crazy cloud formations in the background. Plus the hotel is GORGEOUS inside for photos as well.  So, I hope, hope, hope and pray it doesn't rain on your big day (or mine!) but if it does, smile, smile, SMILE through it all.

JHarris,

Don't worry too much, I ve seen brides at RPDC on rainy days during my site inspection, they all looked great and had great times with indoor reception.  For things that you don't have control over, you should just chill and relax.  Of course, we can all pray and send u positive vibes~~~~

Andrea,

I spent like $10 per each OOT bags..initially I was thinking of buying those hand sanitazers, but then I saw RPDC already offers them to its guests...they also offers chips, boxes of juices in their mini bar, they also have bath salts and tea lite candles for the jaccuzi in the room

...as for medications, I just send a list of things to pack to my guests.  As some people have allergies to certain meds..and I don't want to be responsible for that.

Good advice! I've been thinking about the weather a lot lately too. Stressing about rain-- I keep checking playa del carmen on my iphone--- and for the last two weeks all the 7-day forecasts have rain.... Ahh welll... What can we do about it?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
