ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies,

I just booked my date at Royal PDC yesterday for 11/18/11! I booked the gazebo for the ceremony and haven't decided on a reception site yet.

I'm just starting my planning today, which doesn't give me much time. I'm going to start by looking for a photographer. Do you ladies have any advice? Is there a place I can find a list of websites for good photographers?

I've never booked a photographer before. What's the price range? Do they charge per picture or per hour or per day? Are the prices negotiable?

Thank you! I appreciate any advice!!

Hey Ladies,

I have some questions regarding Makeup!! :)

I was wanting to go to the M-A-C store on 5th ave to have my makeup done day of the wedding.

I called the number that is on M-A-C's website and I just get a recorded message in Spanish.. Does anyone know if this service is even provided or know of any M-A-C makeup artists I could get in touch with.

Thanks a bunch!!

3 weeks to go !!!!!

Hello fellow BDW Brides!!

Happy Easter!! Hope you are all doing well... it's been a few months since my last post. I spent a couple hours reading yesterday with a glass of wine so I'm all caught up!

Congratulations to all recent brides... so exciting!! Can't wait to read the reviews! I didn't see Jesmcan's wedding review, did I miss it?

We sent out our wedding invitations on April 13th and already have 9 booked and counting!!

Oh we just came back from a friends wedding in punta cana, it was so great to see how it all comes together. All I can say is that it justified all my reasons for wanting a wedding away, it was so relaxing and perfect!!!!!!!!!

RGWedding,

Congratulations!! Time will fly for you. My wedding is May 19th, 2011 and I can't believe it is so soon. I have booked Gonzalo Nunez as my photographer. He seems to be much cheaper then most I had looked at. He is also very quick to respond, and seems very professional. He charges by the hour (different packages will include more hours.) I didn't negotiate the price as it was by far the cheapest I found. His website will show some of his work: nunezgonzalo.com

I hope this helps. If you have any other questions please let me know. and good luck!!

Hi RG,

TA Wendy here... you have picked one of my favorite properties for your wedding! I wanted to encourage you to have a look at Del Sol Photography. They are frequent contributors here on the BDW forum and do absolutely beautiful work.

... And if you happen to need any assistance from a TA, I would be delighted to help you with that aspect!

Best wishes to you!

TA Wendy

Hi ladies so I leave tomorrow morning, 8am flight!!!!  I'll come on as soon as I get back to let you all know how everything went!

I'm going crazy but hoping that everything falls into place I keep thinking to myself just breath...

I just went to do the online check in and they have us down for the wrong room so emailed my TA and just hoping this gets worked out.  We spent A LOT of money and booked our room over 6 months ago so The Royal will be hearing from me BIG time if they don't get this straightened out.  Granted it's an upgrade on the room but we wanted oceanfront and the upgraded room is oceanview.  No thanks.

Thanks for all the helpful advice this forum was a life saver!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
