ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Marvin sent me pics as well, His work looks awesome and he has a wide variety of ideas if you have a color in mind but not necessarily types of flowers.

Girls,

I got the call that my dress came in early today! Eeek! Excited to see it but also wishing it was a week or two later. I still don't know what I want to do about jewelry and I wanted to have it for my fitting. What kind of jewels are you ladies wearing? I need some ideas :)

Ok, I take back what I said about Marvin.  I got my contact and he said we're all confirmed.  My bouquet inspiration was from a past Royal bride.  I asked that yellow be added since the girls are wearing yellow.  I wanted a fun, colorful bouquet.

These are the pics he sent my of my bouquet and he will be making smaller versions for my bridesmaids:

I think he could do anything, and his prices were reasonable. for the orchids and birds of paradise below, the bridal bouquet was $160 - $180 and the bouts and corsages were $15 - $25. pretty awesome considering he's using some of the priciest flowers.

I really like all of his ideas - he not only captured EXACTLY what I was looking for, but he offered some great choices, too. most brides decide on color first, and then he can probably help. it's also good if you search around on the internet (google images, the knot) to see what you like. there's also a forum on here for flowers - 55 pages of awesome, unique ideas. : )

If you go to my profile and see my albums - I have the pics Marvin put together for me. Exactly what I wanted. I 110% agree with Kellygrrrl - Marvin can replicate just about anything you want. Either ideas you've seen or flowers you love. Mine are lavender roses and green cymbidium orchids.

So.. I just got off tripadvisor checking up on reviews.. has anyone heard of the No Music No Activities rule implemented at the Royal Cancun as of March 20, 2011!!! Because there are a 5 diamond resort now they are not allowed to play music by the pool or pool activities!! Alot of guest are complaining about it due to lack of "excitment" a.k.a boring.. Im concerned about this since most of my guest like to atleast hear music by the pool.... !! What do you guys think about this???

I completely understand the frazzled, my wedding is 30 days away and I leave in 26! I've been really sick the past couple of weeks and have not been able to do any wedding stuff so now I'm even more behind.

Don't be concerned,The Royal is great!!

When I was there last year there were some very obnoxious people by the pool acting like they were 17 and on Spring Break so I'm sure instances like those played into their decision. It's not a cheap hotel so I'm sure they just want to keep the hotels reputation high and somewhat classy.

Town is so close that if people are bored they can walk into town, also with a large group people will make their own fun.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
