For past brides that used him, any issues? Did he send you a contract?

I was freaking out a few weeks ago too, and my wedding isn't until July.  But he finally wrote back apologizing for the delay stating he was extremely busy with weddings but promised everything was confirmed, and he re-sent the contract for assurance.  I'm having that he'll pull through based on his reputation :)

Hi ladies, I'd stick with Marvin.  He has been getting back to me rather quick.  He told me he was really busy right now, but trust me he'll get to you.  He sent me a contract and we are still tweeking it a little here and there.  He said cash the day of or if someone prefers to send straight to his bank account he'd give the information.

Yep. I agree with everyone else that Marvin will get back to you. He has been responding to me quickly (it's me who doesn't always reply back quickly!) He's super flexible with all of my requests.

Also- for those whose wedding is >60 days away (and still have some dress fittings left), I want to recommend Insanity (the workout by Shawn T.). OMG, after just 1 month of Insanity, my dress used to fit perfectly, and now I'm getting it taken in! That's a good thing! It's super difficult, but a great workout for the time (<40 min per day, 6 days a week).

Good luck everybody! My big day is 59 days away. :)

Thanks y'all.  I'll check out the Real resort with my TA.  Somehow I didn't even know that existed.

Invites are out and we are getting responses back.

Friday I'm going to try on and pick up my dress for the 1st time.  EEK!  2nd day of boot camp was today.  It's killer, but much needed!!

Congrats Nadiah!!  YOU ARE SO CLOSE!!

Speedy130 - Love the pics.  Very classy!

haha, funny you should mention that. I saw a couple of cute college boys in our apartment gym doing an exercise dvd on their laptop - they could hardly keep up!! I asked if it was P90X, and they told me it was the Insanity thing. clearly, I'm not up on my workout dvds. ; ) they said they had been doing it for a month and couldn't get through the workout. must be great - congrats on the weight loss, orange_peel!!

Hi ladies,

Thanks for the nice comments!  It was so much fun, I cannot wait to get the photobook back.

I have friends who bought the Insanity workout and they said the same thing, it is nuts but it works!  I did one bootcamp class and I could not walk for a week!!!  I run, but those jumps, etc...its another level.  I have a month left, maybe some last minute insanity is not a bad idea.

I agree about Marvin, he can be a bit slow but is always very accommodating when he does get back to you.  I have changed my mind a couple times now and he probably wants to kill me, but is still so nice :)

I just sent out my pre-travel brochures!  Its getting close!!

yes, actually - I just received a quote from him last night. I sent him an inspiration bouquet (real-touch) pand he provided the following photos and ideas. he's AMAZING!! I think he could do anything, and his prices were reasonable. for the orchids and birds of paradise below, the bridal bouquet was $160 - $180 and the bouts and corsages were $15 - $25. pretty awesome considering he's using some of the priciest flowers.

I really like all of his ideas - he not only captured EXACTLY what I was looking for, but he offered some great choices, too. most brides decide on color first, and then he can probably help. it's also good if you search around on the internet (google images, the knot) to see what you like. there's also a forum on here for flowers - 55 pages of awesome, unique ideas. : )

Nadennec -

If you go to my profile and see my albums - I have the pics Marvin put together for me. Exactly what I wanted. I 110% agree with Kellygrrrl - Marvin can replicate just about anything you want. Either ideas you've seen or flowers you love. Mine are lavender roses and green cymbidium orchids.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
