Here are a few teaser shots that shows the location (I took these yesterday). My friend that helped me into my dress took these pictures. My photographer proofs aren't ready yet. But this gives you an idea of what you can do at this location.

It's a spanish/tuscan theme. Great space for shoots.

choleann - there are a number of previous postings that answer this question and provide LOTS of helpful information about the royal. it's recommended you spend a few evenings with a glass of wine reading through the previous 200 - 400 posts. it's sort of a BDW rite-of-passage. ; )

congrats on booking your date, and welcome!

Gracias Lisa & Labebita911!!

Lisa - I've been pretty good about working out and eating right. However - there is always room for improvement!!  rolleyes.gif  Especially if I plan to look as great as Jesmcan or KShow in their boudair pics. Those girls totally rocked it and looked amazing. Sports Illustrated models - eat your hearts out! Our ladies are totally hot!!

Labebita911 - Believe it or not but my bouquet came from a grocery store. If you have H-E-B in your area, Central Market is the higher end of that chain.

My actual bouquet will be the basic bridal bouquet included in the package - dozen lavender roses. I wanted to add more flowers to my bouquet but the resort florist was charging too much and I wanted to take advantage of everything that came in my package. I am using Marvin from Maya Diseno Floral for everything else though.

Definitely not trying to get crazy with the budget - but it's so hard when you see all the great stuff from other awesome weddings! LOL....

JHarris, awesome teasers! You are really wearing that dress! You just crossed the 90 day mark and I am right behind you. June 24th. I am feeling like there is so much to do now!

I agree, it's so hard to stay within budget with all the ideas I keep getting from the site. We've upgraded to a private reception now, and now I'm thinking about what to do for table decor. I really don't want to pack a lot of stuff because I know we will already have a bunch with wedding attire and OOT gifts, etc. Are you ladies bringing centerpiece items, or ordering stuff from the Royal?

Hi Randi,

Beautiful wedding pictures!!

Which company did you use for the catamaran trip? Love your bouquet!! Were your flowers provided by the Royal? I don't know anything about flowers :( What kind are they? And if provided by the hotel, what should I ask for if I wanted a similar bouquet?

Thanks so much!

Two months until the big day!  What are you ladies planning on wearing out on the town after the reception is over?  I was thinking of getting a tea-length white dress to wear after my reception, but I don't know that I want to invest in a second wedding dress.  Are any other brides planning on changing to go out on the town after the reception, and if so, what are you planning on wearing?

Also wondering....OOT gifts, bags-- what is the tradition here?  What does OOT stand for, what types of things should be included, and how are these delivered to the guests?  Also, should these be prepared ahead of time and transported, or do you think we could get away with putting them together in Mexico, a couple days before the wedding?

SweetLe: I bought four boxes of LED flickering tea lights (very inexpensive online), and I plan to buy some paper to make simple luminaries to set in the center of the tables.  I also got chair sashes, table covers, a gold runner for the head table, and will print my own place holders on cardstock.  Oh--and a couple rolls of burgundy and ivory tulle, to decorate the gazebo.  We have only 17 people for our reception (ourselves included), so we will probably order centerpieces either through the resort or from Maya Diseno....though I have been waiting to hear back from them for a while now.

We're doing the ipod thing as well.  I will definitely check out the wedding app that was mentioned- what a great idea!  My FI is worried that the reception won't be fun because it is such a small group, but I think it may even be more fun that way.  Everyone there has no kids to worry about, nowhere to go, except to hang out and celebrate with us...and, no one has to drive :)

It is seriously a drag that the resort feels they have to profit so heavily off of things like using an outside vendor, not having 20 guests for the reception, charging for admission to the wedding and doubling all fees for non-resort guests.  Especially when we're paying thousands of dollars to rent a room for the week.  It's disappointing and frustrating.  But then, weddings were never really meant to be inexpensive, were they? :)

Thanks to everyone for their continued comments/insight....this site has been very helpful!

Jen

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
