ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Jharris.... thanks for the advice, i was leaning towards finding a good travel agent for everyone to use, I thought it made sense as well, I was just curious if their discount when you called them was worth it they have been very vague about what the discount would be. Also... the WC at the royal told me that they arrange the vendors, even the DJ? I wanted to get the pricing for DJ Doremixx that so many have used and gave great reviews, and the WC told me they make the arrangements with them, I was wondering if anyone else had the resort do this? Is it more expensive to have the resort plan it? I had sent an email to the DJ directly for pricing and package options but haven't had a response from them.

Thanks

Lisa, your pics are amazing, I love them!!  Did you tell your coordinators ahead of time about having outside hair and makeup?  Did you have any trouble getting Fernando in?  Any advice would be great!

I didn't mention having Fernando and his assistant. I didn't have to pay the fee either. I asked him about this and he said that security is very familiar with him and they just called me to confirm he could come to my room and  he did :-).

Ladies, thanks for all the nice comments about the pics. It took 3 months but it was worth the wait because i can tell he took his time editing them (and removing people from the beach lol). I would book him asap because he's getting popular and I think he may be increasing price. Lock it in! lol . If you do TTD, bring your bouquet (or I just used petals from the bouquet my WC sent to room). Also ask to do a few shots alone underwater (I think girls are more graceful underwater lol)

Both of those vendors are awesome. My only blip was that I thought I could pay with credit card for Marvin, so while I was having makeup done, my MOH had to call my brother and ask him for money (thank God he had that kind of cash pulled already)....so have the cash lol.

You know, i'm not exactly sure since Ivan did the driving. It was great because it was pretty private and the water was amazing. I'm sure he'd let you know..I think his forum name on here is iLuckie

Ivan Luckie for both photo sessions. He also brought an assistant, Willie, who is great.

You did good, Ivan and Fernando are greatness. I'm not used to wearing so much makeup, but Fernando had Ivan take a pic for me while getting it done and I was instantly reassured. you'll love them!

For some reason i cant start a new thread. I am in need of assistance. Just became engaged as of Jan 1st of 2011 and my fiancé and I are having our wedding the Royal Playa del Carmen and I have a lot of questions to ask. I'll start with how do I plan on getting my guests there? I looked at a destinationwedding.com site and they seem to be pretty good at what they do? Has anyone used them before? Or should I just get a hold of a local travel agent here. I do like that it says on their site that the guests will be able to make a payment plan which I'm not sure how that would work but I think cost for them is what will stop them from coming to the wedding. Also I picked the Luxury package but Iâ€m not sure on how great their photographer is has anyone used their packages on photographers? These are the two major questions I need help with. Please help. The wedding will be November 1, 2011. I am so excited.

Hope to hear from everyone soon.

Sara

Antonia how did you have your guest plan their travel to mexico?  Are you working with a travel agent or are the guest just planning their own flights?  I'm considering hiring a travel agent to assist and maybe help with a group discount.  I am getting a lot of push back from my family on going to Mexico for the wedding so it will be a small gathering.

Sara,

Our wedding is not until June 24, 2011- but we are using Beach Bum Vacations (TA-Steve) for all of our arrangements. They allow guests to make payments up until 61 days before the trip. Our experience has been great so far, with quick responses to e-mails and phone calls :) Hope this helps! Congrats on the recent engagement!

Lisa your pictures look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!  Our wedding is June 19th 2011 and I had previously decided to go with the resort photography, but after seeing your pics I decided to book Ivan!

Did you reserve a room for him or just book him as a non-real wedding guest?

Hi SweetLe

I just took a look at the Beach Bum Vacations website, and it seems sooooo helpful... thanks for putting the information on here. I was concerned because we have people coming from all over and I wasn't sure if a local travel agent would suffice. Beach Bum Vacations seems to make it more manageable I just sent a request in for more information.

Thanks again...Marissa

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
