I picked the luxury package as this includes the photos and video? im sure its on the huge thread somewhere but can;t find it. What are the quality of the photos/ videos? I've read that a lot of brides have used outside vendors? What do you recommend I do ? I no im planning a bit too far ahead but want things to be right lol

Also my package includes upto 35 "real" guests, not sure if I will have any guests staying at the royal/sister so if for example I had no "real" guests would I still have to pay extra for all non real guests, am I best trying to get my guests that have children/ want a cheaper alternative to the royal to stay at the sister,

Thanks ladies x

Yes kate112 you still would have to pay extra for the people not staying at the royal or any of the sister resorts.  and I believe the price is double what it is for "real" guests.  I asked everyone to stay at certain hotels, but I'm only having like 15-20 people at my wedding.  Also, I just found out if your having a private reception you have to pay for 20 people whether you have them there or not.  Just keep that in mind.  I remember someone using both the royal photographer and an outside photog.  It was also included in their package but they were iffy on the resort photog and had both.  They said it worked out ok, they used the resort photog to take pictures of the guests after the ceremony while the bride and groom had their wedding pictures taken around the resort.  Worked out good they said, but you can see the photogs in pics here and there.  Another bride had just the photog from the resort and said her pictures were good.  Personally we went with an outside photog, we are doing the "free"wedding package so nothing was included.  Their are a lot of good photogs around the area, I'd research and contact as many as you can, review their work and base your decision on that.  A lot of brides have gotten around the vendor fee by adding them to the guest list. Good Luck!

Hi ladies - I just spoke with my wedding coordinator about hair and make-up...she claims I will have to pay the $350 vendor fee to bring anyone in from outside to do it.  How did you ladies get around this???  I read in previous posts that you were allowed someone for three hours, but she claims this is not so, you have to pay the fee.  UGHH.

Hey Everyone! My FI and I are getting married at the Royal May 18th. We can't wait! It isn't long now and all the final details are coming together. I just had a few questions about a few things, especially for those who are very near their big day, and for those who have already had the most amazing day of their life!!

We are from Calgary, and we are curious about the documents for the wedding. Our WC is telling us we don't need any documents translated into Spanish, and  apostilled (sp?), we just need our passports and customs card. This makes me nervous! I don't want to get there and have them say we can't get married!!!

Also, has anyone else found out that the DJ's have increased their prices? We found out that it's another $150 for his services!! I feel that it's crazy to have it jacked up, especially that we already booked him, so why the increase in price now?? Grr...

Any tips for the reception on the beach? (in front of Pelicano's). Did people have problems with wind??

Thanks for all the great ideas! This web site helps out with so much!!

HI all... I have just officially booked my date for June 2012 which is very exciting!!! However I now have many more questions! Did anyone use them as the "travel agent" the wedding specialist Angie explained they could be used as our travel agent and the guests would call her directly to receive discounts associated with the stay for our wedding, but this wouldn't include a package as they would still have to get  the airfare on their own. I was just curious as to how others handled this? Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
