Just wanted to introduce myself :) A quick question - does anyone know a good place for an after party? Our reception is done around 11 and knowing the crowd of people we've got coming, we're going to need to send them somewhere fun!

Thanks,

Liz

The Blue Parrott is fun and has a fire dancer show. There are tons of places on 5th avenue as well

Thanks ChicagoBride. I gotta verify that you can get a discount for purchasing multiple day passes. My WC just emailed me a chart yesterday and there was nothing related to this. So hoping your WC is right. Check also with you WC about guests having to purchse day passes on the day of your wedding.  My WC told me that I wouldn't have to pay for guests not staying at the Royal since it was already included in the extra costs that I was paying for the toast, reception, etc.  For example, the normal fee an extra Real guest would be $30.  The fee for an external guest is $60  (depending on your package). I was told that external guests would not have to pay for a day pass since the brides are already paying a higer fee per head for the wedding festivities.

Are the wedding day passes the cost if your guests want to come on the resort before your wedding and stay after it is over?

Hi Nadiah, We chartered a private catamaran for our group (36 people so not too big). We are going the day before the wedding (friday) since we are getting married on Saturday and most of the people who can't miss too much work are leaving on Sunday. Here is the link to the company we worked with incase you're interested - http://www.paradisecatamarans.com/. Our contact there - Mark - is really nice and totally accomodating. PM me if you want more info. Kelly

Hi ladies,

I am thinking I might do rose petals on the aisle.  I am getting married in the gazebo, and the chairs will be outside of it.  Do you think I should try to bring an aisle runner (white) for this?  Red would clash with the colors so the runner they have will not work.  I don't want them to be densely covered in petals, but the pictures I've seen look so beautiful!  Has anyone done this?  Do you know the length of the aisle or what size runner I should get?

I am getting married May 7th and it is filling up for me too, only higher level rooms left.  I sent out a reminder email to everyone, but I don't want to keep harassing them either.  Hopefully the one email will be enough to get their butts into gear!  We have around 30 booked now!!!!

Hey Speedy - I am doing exactly what you are. It sucks that the Royal doesn't have a white runner.  They do have a burlap one (not sure if you knew about this), but that doesn't match my colors - coral and platinum with green accents.  My WC advised me not to bring my own runner or to be cautious if I do because they tend to blow away and the resort doesn't really provide anything to hold them down. I am opting to just put the rose petals between the chairs in aisle format or maybe line the sides of the chairs to give some definition. Decisions Decisions!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
