ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

hey ladies, as i search around for shoes, i had a question for those who had / having a beach ceremony, do you walk up to the sand take your shoes off before you walk into the sand or are you walking all the way with no shoes or going in with your shoes?

i'll need shoes for the reception because it's in the garden but not sure if i need another for the ceremony/

also, where do you start to walk out from? i've been searching the hundreds of pages in the thread but hard to sort through and couldn't really see what people how they reached the sand area.

thanks!

Rosieposie,

Due to erosion the beach is not that wide, the resort has bushes/trees as fence with only a few entry point to the beach.  Generally speaking the beach wedding area is in between the pool and the pier, so the bride will come out of her room, passes by the pool area, and walk to the beach. 20 steps in the sand are my estimate.  If your shoes are wedge heels, I think you will be fine.  If not, you can get a pair of platform flipflops

Thanks to all of you who recommended Marvin at Maya Diseno Flora. He's awesome just like everyone said. So accomodating and goes out his way to create things you like. I sent him a picture of the bouquet I ordered from the Royal, told him my colors and my favorite flowers, and within a couple hours he had sent me several pictures of different bouquets he had made up for me to choose from. AWESOME! I highly recommend him for any soon-to-be brides looking at flowers.

To any recent ROYAL PDC brides - would you be willing to share your pictures from the big day? I'd love to browse through them. We are getting down to the big day and I am looking for ideas and inspiration as we focus on the details now.

We opted for a DJ for our reception, and I remember reading on this forum that it seems most the time DJ Ivan is the DJ you get. Is he good? Did you provide a "do not play" and "must play" list? What about genre recommendations? I know our group and they will pretty much want a lot of classic rock, country, and a little bit of hip hop. Is there a way to tell this to the DJ before hand?

Less than one month to go!

I also decided to go with a DJ and booked Ivan through the resort.  I also confirmed my flowers with Marvin, I'm so excited!

Randi, did you have to arrange that time with Ivan before you left?  I have not talked with him directly...did he contact you beforehand or did you contact him?  Do you or anyone else have his contact info?

Thanks!  Gorgeous pics ladies!!

the white on the gazebo i believe was standard.  it was up a lot of the time when there wasn't even a wedding going on.

and i did arrange the meeting before we left.  there was a miscommunication and he had a few hours later then i had....so i was waiting in the lobby and eventually went to the wedding office and talked to someone and they got it figured out and he arrived shortly. and yea, i just used that email :)

i think i'll start looking for nice wedge-platform flip flops, haven't found my shoes yet, but i know they won't be a wedge heel....lol, i was thinking it'll look so funny if i kicked them off before i went into the sand part.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
