Hi all!

Congrats to all the new MRS!!

These food questions have me thinking...When do you give the counts for each entree?  I also have gluten free guests.  My mom has Celiac's so she really cannot have any wheat.  Did you inform them of those type of special orders at the 45 day checkpoint, or did you tell your WC when you got there?

I am about to send my invitations out but this made me realize I need people to RSVP with food choices, and I haven't chosen the menu yet!

I turned it in with my 30 day checklist. I just wrote 14 chicken, 15 beef, 4 children meals, etc

to be honest....my wedding coordinator was never set on any 30 or 45 day out checklist etc. but for my own comfort, i basically wrote out an itinerary of everything for that day. it included EVERYTHING. table numbers, who is at what table and their meal choice, when the eremony was, all decorations etc. then i just sent that over a couple weeks before hand. but i also gave her an "updated" one when i met zulma at the resort just in case there were changes. so as long as you have the basics ahead of time, if you have to add/change a couple meals when you get there it really isn't an issue.

hey everyone!

I've been MIA for quite some time.  I've read up on all the helpful information.  We have finally made our decision to have our wedding at the Royal PDC on June 4, 2011.  We are going to being doing our site visit next weekend after thanksgiving for 5 days.  Congrats to all the new brides and future brides.

I was wondering what company did ya'll use for airport transfers?  Did you do a private transfer or shared.

Did any company offer ya'll discounts for the wedding group?

thanks,

Heidi

p.s. I booked ivan for our photographer.  I am sooooo excited!

Lisa- I know it will all work out. So sorry that your ladies were not able to make it. At least they'll be there in spirit! It's your day.

Bon_Air - I apologize if you thought I was making fun of the explosion in Mexico - that was not my intent. I was commenting more on how my Mom has been acting like a skittish colt every time she heard news about acts of violence.

JoZee - I will definitely PM you!!

Ladies - I just realized I let my passport expired - how long did it take you to get a new pasport?

Jes - at wicky's, was it a private area that you had? I love your rehearsal dress - so fun and tropical.

Ladies that came back and just used Fernando - did he have a large selection of makeup colors to chose from? I bought some other colors just in case. Was he open to using other makeup that you owned?

Fernando had a LOT of makeup! I was talking to my sister and wondered why some make-up artists have their own makeup and she made a good point. If you're a professional in the field and you use professional products I'm sure it will bring your quality of work down if someone shows up with all their Cover Girl or Wet N' Wild makeup and expects you to make them look great using less than stellar products. It made sense to me. But he does have a huge selection and I'm sure you won't need any of your own!

Does anyone know did they have a dry cleaning place that could steam my dress?? I don't really want to have it steamed here and then travel with it and it be a mess again. I bought a steamer but I'm afraid to do it myself if they have a place!

Just let them (the Royal) pick it up and steam it and return it. Trust me, I was anal about this and worried, but I wouldn't have it any other way. A hand steamer won't do the job, and it is included in certain packages. They were amazing and my dress looked perfect when it was returned to me! :)

Very cool! I just bought extra colors from MAC store in Houston that I liked. LOL... The control freak inside of me just can't quite let go. I think once I do a site visit and a trial with him - I'll be more relaxed. The only thing I don't like is their foundation. Something in it made my face break out.

Good to know about their steamer service being reliable. It seems so scary to just hand it over. LOL....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
