Thank you for the reassuring words, I just talked to my parents and they are still on board with the wedding in PDC regardless of what happens from here on out  angel1.gif all that matters to me is that at least they be there. Everyone else I wish would just try and relax a bit, OH well.....heavy sigh!

I have a question for those who have already had their weddings: How far out did you mail your invitations? I sent my STD a year in advance and have gotten little responses. I'm starting to think people may go last minute and then it will throw off all my DIY projects and other items. I would love to hear what you did, or if this has already been discussed lead me to that forum. :)

I also got my dress this weekend and now feel like this is a becoming very REAL!! so excited!!! despite some family freaking out.

What do you think? I'm wondering if this will be to full, should I have the bottom taken out a little?? Thanks

Wickys was the most amazing place for our rehearsal/welcome dinner I am going to post pics to Shutterfly today and I will share the link with everyone. The food was amazing!!!! Our photographer Samuel ended up getting in a car accident and never showed up :( We luckily were able to get other photographers for that night. They did an amazing job.

Samuel Luna was fine thank god and came for the wedding. He is the sweetest coolest guy ever and i cannot wait to see the pics. I can't wait to share the video and everything with you guys.

The resort is incredible and we did not have one bad meal.

kool beach club was the best decision we ever made. This place is absolutely breath taking. We had no rain and had the most beautiful day. It was blue blue skys and sunshine. Unfortunetly some of the other brides had rain :( but it is good luck!

I need to catch up and get back to reality :) if you have any pressing questions please do ask right away

Jess- YAY!! So glad you had an amazing wedding!!! Can not wait to see your pics!!! All of us were thinking of you on Friday :)

My dad also suggested that I move the wedding to Canada (FI's from there) lol. Unfortunately it seems to be the reality that a good portion of people will not go. I had people (even two in my wedding party, including my MOH) who are no longer going :-(. One of my bridesmaids still hasn't booked and we leave a week from today. O_o  ....people will have the best intentions, but realistically the majority will not.

I'm really sorry to hear that about your MOH. Hopefully, the decision not to go was due to finances or something beyond her control.

I am freaking out. I have deposits paid, guests have paid deposits. I honestly don't understand. I realize that their has been some violence in the news about Mexico but we all know it was not in these areas, it is a lot more dangerous near the U.S. borders if anything! This terrible explosion is just making people freak out more even though it was a freak accident.

I am really stressed and have no idea what to do sad.gif

So sorry you are dealing with this.  It's horrible thing that happened, however does he understand that it was anaccident? It could happen anywhere. It wasn't a bomb or an explosion done with purpose?  It seems that the people that were against going to Mexico from the beginning are going to find any reason not to go.   You and your fiance need to follow your hearts and have your wedding where you want, if you settle for what others want you'll regret it.

I have an aunt who didn't want to go from the start and was coming up with every excuse possible not to go, one of them being " I don't like Mexican food"  ahhhhhhh that one made me laugh.   My cousin (her daughter) is pregnant now and is due a couple weeks after my wedding so that gave her a valid excuse not to go, but when I called to congratulate my aunt on becoming a grandma the first words out of her mouth were "Well that's it I can't go to Mexico now!"   Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!   I was stressing about people not coming etc, but I've stopped and realized that it's about my fiance and I getting married and choosing to spend the rest of our lives together.

I'm sure if this is what you truly want your dad wouldn't miss it.  He's just testing you, My fiance parents didn't give us the money they promised for the wedding when we decided to have the wedding in Mexico and they thought it would stop us, but it didn't. :)

Welcome back Jess! I can't wait to read your review and check out your pics! This explosion is really terrible. I think people are feeling like backing out because they are already on edge about the cartels and this is something else that makes them fear for their lives. Nevermind that it could happen somewhere else or the violence that happens at home. People are dying and that is something to be nervous about. Hopefully, since some of your weddings are farther away, people will come back around. I had a cousin who was supposed to be a BM back out due to the violence. She even convinced her parents, my aunt and uncle, not to come. I say WTF ever, they will be missing out! How about that? For my girls, I got custom made spa wraps and totes, pocket spas, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, starfish flip flops and coach wristlets. I was thinking about getting them flasks made too, I haven't decided yet. I might also take them all out. I really wanted to do something special for them because in addition to paying for their dresses, shoes and trips, they chipped in $300.00 each for my bachelorette party and bridal shower. If you want any I fo about my gifts, let me know. There's also a thread on here about BMs gifts.

Thanks sweetie, yes it was definitely due to finances. She was gonna go despite it, but I told her that I understood and didn't want her to go into debt out of obligation. I told her she was still MOH, just from far away :-).

lovveeeee your dress looks amazing :) I do not think it looks to full at all. Just depends on how you feel :)

- We sent out our STD a year in advance, as the rates kept going up I sent out mass e-mails about the increase in rates. 98% of our 85 guests were booked 4 months before our wedding due to my reminders lol. I also sent out formal invitations 6 months before as a reminder.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
