The first one is taffeta.  I tried it on after a few satin dresses and it was much lighter, but definitly not airy.  Some of those dresses were so heavy!

I'm always hot to begin with so add a heavy dress and I'll be a sweaty mess, haha.

Still waiting to hear back from bridal store about getting the sample of number 2 in.

Thanks for all the words of wisdom ladies, you rock!

I had a hand steamer for my MOH's wedding and it worked well on her chiffon dress (not sure how good it would be for taffeta or satin). Luckily the luxury package includes dress steaming/pressing, so I don't have to worry about burning my dress lol.

I hear you, girl. I am also curvy and 5'3 and once I saw the wonders the corset could do i was hooked. (and i'm in a heavy satin dress but i don't care! lol) I figure the sun will be down 1.5 -2 hrs after my ceremony and then it will be relatively cool outside next month. I have to practically wear stilts though because FI is 6'6 and a half!

Corsets are AMAZING!!!   Whoahhh 6' 6" get those stillettos ready, haha.

Your wedding is next month already?!?!  Wow, it's so close, how exciting!

I definitly don't want the red aisle runner.  I'm going to ask them to remove it and just have flower petals sprinkled.

I looked at ordering one of those custom monogrammed aisle runners and brining or shipping it down, but I decided not to.  It wasn't worth the money to me.

I would prefer to just do flower petals as well, but I am worried that walking in heels, it may be easier to walk down the runner..? I might be way off in that assumption, I just thought that when I looked at the pictures of the walk way it looked kinda cobble stone like..?  Either way, I am with you Lisa...I am not really into the red. I know they have different color runners because the pictures I saw of the beach set up for a ceremony they have different colored runners there....I think I might either bring my own or ask for a different color.

Oh crap!  I didn't even think about the actual rehearsal!  I have been more worried about where and how much a rehearsal dinner will cost.  LOL

That is super strange they don't do a run though.  When I went for my site visit there was a yoga class taking place in the Royal gazebo...

They did have chairs already set up though for a wedding they were having that day, so I'm sure at some point it should be free for a run...

I don't want the red aisle runner either!  It will clash with my colors...but if they forgot to take it away or something I won't be too upset.

I FINALLY ordered my STD's from Vistaprint last night!  I got the free priority shipping and they said they would arrive by next Monday.  If that really happens, that is freakin awesome!!!  I need to get them out asap!

Happy Monday y'all :)

Lisa - I was just looking at your wedding page ( so cute btw!!) and I realized that we are moving onto Cozumel also!!

Where are you guys staying when you go there? We are actually staying at this tiny little hotel that I found on TripAdvisor. It is like the exact opposite of the Royal, but I think it will be super romantic and I am excited!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
