ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

I asked for one but they told me they don't do rehearsals. So when we get down there I was just going to ask for a time the gazebo is free and do our own really quick in the morning. I will let you know how that goes though lol

Hi!

Congrats on your upcoming marriage...

Just checking- Did you secure a photographer?

If not: check this guy out...We used him and he was fantastic...Better than what the resort was trying to "assign" to us...

His name is Derek Campbell.

If you have any questions: feel free to send to me directly: katiesal@yahoo.com

I get nothing out of the referal except the good feeling that I've sent people good info the can feel comfortable with for the rest of their lives.

:-)

Hi ladies thanks for all the Maggie advice!  My wedding is in the Gazebo and Reception on beach.   And YES, those corsets work wonders!   I was amazed at how tiny my waist looked. smile159.gif

PrettyPig thanks was my concern with the 2nd one.  I was afraid it would look frumpy on me.  I'm 5' 4' and curvy, and I was thinking that dress  would be better for a tall skinny frame.  If the store can't get a sample I'm going to take it as "it wasn't meant to be."

The Brianna looked awesome, so if any of you curvy girls are looking for a dress definitly try this one on!

BTW the bridal store I went to was awesone, it was such a pleasant experience.  If any of you Chicago area brides are still looking I highly recommend.

Lisa-   The only thing they said I would have to rent or pay for was (because I'm running it like a cocktail hour) if I wanted the high like barstool chairs at the cocktail tables.  I said no.  The sunbeds were good enough and they said they can put regular chairs around for people to sit if they want.  I think with the food set up and people getting drinks and talking we won't need the high chairs.

Chicago bride - I also have to say I LOVE the dresses they look gorgeous! The only thing I would think about is the first one , what kind of material is it made out of?  I think I would be too hot in it.  I mean I know I am going to be hot in any dress, but it looks satin or taffita.  The other one might be more flowy and airy.  But which ever one you choose will look amazing!

By the way are you bringing a steamer or what were you thinking of doing for it?

Also to all ladies did any of you save a seat for the photographer at a table or no?

I had a hand steamer for my MOH's wedding and it worked well on her chiffon dress (not sure how good it would be for taffeta or satin). Luckily the luxury package includes dress steaming/pressing, so I don't have to worry about burning my dress lol.

I hear you, girl. I am also curvy and 5'3 and once I saw the wonders the corset could do i was hooked. (and i'm in a heavy satin dress but i don't care! lol) I figure the sun will be down 1.5 -2 hrs after my ceremony and then it will be relatively cool outside next month. I have to practically wear stilts though because FI is 6'6 and a half!

Oh and Jess, thanks for bringing that up; I will probably make 2 spots for my photographer (Ivan Luckie) and his wife/assistant if he brings her. I got him a room at the GRP for like 189.00 (beats the 350.00 vendor fee!cheesy.gif)

crap....i forgot to add him to the list for meals

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
