ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hey! I ordered my organza sashes from weddinglinensdirect.com for 5.90 for a pack of ten! so cheap! you should def buy your own and not rent them from them! you can sell them when you return to any future brides! I dont think they will charge extra to set that up for you. And buying them vs renting them from the resort is definately saving me a ton of money! I paid 35 bucks for 60....had i rented them it wouldve been 180!!!! def a deal! Even at .89 cents each it's super cheap! go for it!

I also have a question about sashes if anyone has brought their own.  I know the Royal will provide them for 3.00 a chair but I can get them for .89 a peice.  Has anyone brought their own?  Did the WC put them out for you for free or do they charge a set up fee.  I know its not savingf that much but every bit helps.

Thanks!

Welcome back Running Bride!!!!! I'm glad to hear everything was perfect! You look beautiful! I can't wait to see your pics from Ivan!

Can you tell me how you did your booking at Maria Maries and how/when you guys were able to to select the songs from the violinist. Also, what types of songs did she have? Was there a large selection?

Thank so much and CONGRATS again!

Here we are! Jess, yes! We did legal and to tell you the truth I don't really remember much! We were going to do a sand ceremony and add something else in, but the day before Kenny bashed his head when we were swimming in a cenote so we spent the morning before the wedding in the hospital. So we didn't get to a few things we were planning on. Oh well, it all worked out.

Oh, we ha the Mexican trio at the cocktail reception and they were great! I didn't have any appetizers but heard they were good. We had a violinist playing during the wedding, and they let us choose the music we wanted.

We didn't get an extra hour at the reception but I wish we would have. We didn't have a DJ, just used an iPod but have no complaints The wooden dance floor the resort provided was great. Ah, the food at the reception was AMAZING!

RunningBride you look beautiful....and your arms look so toned lol   Oh I wish I would have gotten married younger and thinner lol (I'm 35)

Did you use Maya Diseno for flowers? How did that work? What I mean is, do they deliver and someone meets out front to get them? lol

I am sorry,  we only host events for guests at the property, if you could  book a number of  rooms for the wedding, I will get back to you with room rates and the wedding coordinator with details for the event.

Hey ladies! I'm back from Mexico and I'm a Mrs. I have been trying to catch up with the forum and see how many answers I can give but I'm on my stupid phone and it's taking a while to load. So far here are some answers on a few questions on the previos pages...

No you can't bring into or take out of the country any flowers or shells, well you can but if you get stopped they will throw them away. I brought fake flower petals and the resort used those.

The tables at The Royal for our reception held 10 people comfortably.

I used the resort for hair and makeup and it turned out beautiful and everyone said it looked "stunning" lol so I'll post pics and y'all can see what you think. But I'm so very glad I went with them.

If you have to open up a new credit card, have a garage sale or beg, cheat and steal to raise the extra money for a DJ then DO IT. I would have paid him twice as much as he was asking now that I know how much it was worth it. Of course we all love to dance but we had such a party going on that the locals and other guests from the resorts were pulling up chairs to watch us. Our picture look like a night club. A iPod and speakers wouldn't have been able to keep up with us. We saw another wedding there that did have an iPod/speaker set up and hardly anyone was dancing. So we're so glad we sprung for Dj Ivan. Also, spring for the extra hour at the reception and make it 4 hours if you have a Dj. You won be sorry you did.

I'll get the full review all written up, do my planning thread and post pics when I get home from work.

Also, I saw runningbride (I think) and I said hi to her by the pool. I hope it was her lol. But she looked so amazingly beautiful! I'm sure she'll be back soon too.

AHHHH I thought that was you!!! :) Yes you said hi by the pool! That made me smile! That was one of the most fun parts, walking through the pool!

I think I saw your wedding on Saturday! :) I agree, get the extra hour at the reception for sure!

I just used the resort flowers for less hassle. I thought they were beautiful. A tad expensive for roses, but it was less of a headache.

The map did help, thank-you!! I printed them off and gave them to our guests so they could see who was where. We had oceanfront (736) the last 3 nights of our stay. We had guests all over the place but it worked out nicely.

We didn't do the DJ and it did look amazing. Our guests drank enough to keep on dancing, lol. But I did see DJ Ivan at work and it was spectacular!

Lady Di, you and Heather Graham were my hair inspiration so I have to give you a shout out!

WELCOME BACK LADIES AND CONGRATS!!!

RunningBride- you look absolutely stunning!! I love your hair, it looks amazing. Fernando and his hair guy did an amazing job. YAY!! I'm so glad I got Fernando! I'm thinking of a half up and down myself but not sure how the humidity will affect my hair in June. hhmmm....

Did you use the luxury package? I thought the bridal bouquet of dozen roses were included?

Smckinney - Can't wait to see your pics and how their salon did! I'm using them for my rehearsal dinner night. Was it easy to communicate with them? I'm pretty good with my spanish but I don't know every word. LOL...

If anyone has gold chair sashes and wants to sell them, PM me! As of right now I'm guessing 40 or so. Gracias!! elefant.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
