ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies,

Wondering whether anyone can help me out with this -- I'm just over a month before the wedding date and was supposed to send in my completed guest list (with Royal Confirmation Numbers) to my wedding co-ordinator.  Now, I have been emailed my TA and my wedding co-ordinator, and no one seems to know where the frig to get these confirmation numbers from.

Where did you ladies obtain your guests Royal confirmation from?

Thanks!

Luna - that is really weird. Your TA should know and have a confirmation for your guests. Isn't your TA responsible for booking the guests? I would assume she would know. When I ask my TA questions she know exactly who has and who hasn't. That is just strange. Hopefully one of them finds that out for you! WOW!! Just a month away. Congrats!

Lisa,

My old WC said either was fine, but just the other day I was reading the customs forum and one of the brides who took hers (freeze dried) said they disposed of them so be careful. Did you see anything from the webcam?

Congrats NEW MRS! Can't wait to read the reviews!

Ladies, does the Royal have any stipulations on flower petals? do they have to be real or fake (or does it not matter)?

Hey JHarris - Sorry to hear about the rescheduling, but I think you're right that getting married on Friday will work out better in the long run (provided your hair/makeup person agrees!). I think it'd be so much easier to arrive on a Thursday for a Friday wedding and stay through the weekend than leave on Wednesday for a Thursday wedding. Maybe it's just me, but getting off work can be tricky at times. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that the final pieces fall in to place. Also agree with what others said about the Save the Dates - no need to redo, maybe just an email instead? The guests know when the wedding is, another day shouldn't make much difference. Also, if you're planning to send booking info with the invites, you can easily make sure they're aware there.

LisaDSO re the flower petals - I don't think there are any restrictions at the Royal (whether they're real or artificial), though customs may prevent you from bringing real ones into Mexico. The Royal will sell you a bag of petals for $20, I believe - they recommend 5 - 10 to line an aisle runner, and I think someone on here was fine with 5 bags.

Now you gave me some concerns, because I reserved my date like 1.5 yrs in advance, and didn't send any email recently to bug my WC...

I guess I better remind them about my date!

prettypigpig - glad to hear someone else reserved as far in advance as I will!! please keep me posted on what you find out from your WC, and fingers crossed. also, did you reserve online or by calling?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
