Thanks lady! I will do just that. I have to post the thread on my ornaments. I made them from sand dollars.I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out.

While I sat there, DH grabbed all of the other luggage and got it out of customs as quickly as possible. But then, they let me go with no reason other than a snide remark about me making up costs.

I love love love giving ornaments for Christmas time weddings. I would say make it as hard as possible to find them. Like wrap them, put them in a sealed box, put that box in your luggage. The stuff that I had packaged like that, they didn't go through.

That's awesome. I wish I was that disciplined!

Welcome to the new ladies. On a positive note, my jewelry came and I LOVE it. I got it from Etsy, and I'm so pleased with how well it ties in. I can't believe we're getting married in 65 days! Time has really flown by!

Runningbride, congrats! I hope everything out beautiful! Can't wait to read your review! Isn't someone else getting married within the next week too?

JHarris- I think if you are really worried about the concert, I would definitely change the date. It is really only a one day difference and it sounds like you have been stressin about this concert fiasco for awhile. I think your guests will definitely understand! It is still early enough to contact everyone ( I know it is a super pain in the ass) but since it is just a one day difference I think it should be fine. Maybe you can send out a mass email to everyone explaining the date change? I think most of the time people hang up a save the date on the fridge or something, but usually don't pay much attention to the dates until you send out the actual invitations. Most of my friends who have booked already still contacted me after I sent them just to verify the date and time of the wedding so they could plan around it. I think it is worth it if it will put your mind at ease for the next 8 months!!!

There is a silver lining, a girl that originally booked the 17th of June actually canceled. So I may just change my wedding from June 16th to June 17th. However, I'm a little mad! I sent out my save the dates! Now I have 75 people to contact.

Crossing my fingers that my vendors are able to switch days and it's just a minor hiccup.

I wonder if I can get compensated or get something free for this hassle? Any suggestions?

I know how you feel. I have been dieting like a mad woman! I plan on working out like crazy after the new year and probably going on a vegan diet or something extreme a few months before just to make sure I feel great by the time of the wedding! Awesome will power you have!!!

Risa,

you are so right!! Why stress when there's a solution. So far all my vendors but one have responded that they are open for the date change. YAY!! If it was another wedding next door - I probably wouldn't care but since it's a concert - that can be disruptive. I've contacted the majority of our guests and everyone is cool with Friday. In fact they were much more open to Friday so they can save a day of travel & room pay.

Cross your fingers my last vendor who is my makeup/hair person agrees. =)

It sounds like it's working out for the best this way. LOL.... woot.gif

ahaha no problem I know it can be confusing. That is just the cocktail menu so they are all small hor douvres that they just pass a round. We did not want to do a full on dinner so I do not have those but I know they do offer it. I wanted more like stations and some passed hor douvres.

So it is $1 per piece :) Usually it is recommended to do 4 pieces per person per hour. I hope that helps and makes more sense :)

For everyone using Marvin I'll let you know what quote I get for my flowers.  I'm having my flowers, 4 brides maids, 5 boutoneirs, 2 corsages for mothers and about 4 center pieces (depending on how many people reply) He said that the center pieces will be ready to go as soon as their delivered so I avoid the vendor fee. He won't have to set anything up for me.

Jess- Thats awesome! thanks for the pricing on the restaurant.  But, it says USD 1.00 for dishes. Is that per person ? A little confused sorry haha.

Welcome all newbies!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
