I agree - it depends on how formal you want your event. If you don't mind sharing space with others - no need to make reservations. But if you plan on having a large group - it might be a good idea to make reservations. The fee charges are the same as for the reception from the wedding packages. if you look at the Luxury package - it should state the fees for drinks and food.

At least that's what my WC told me. You will find that it all depends on what your WC says. They all give different answers. rolleyes.gif

So with the flowers I was told if I picked them up myself - no vendor fees. If my vendor comes and sets it up - I will be hit with a fee. Sweet!! Saving myself $350 on that one!!

That's awesome, I was hoping that I could figure out some centerpieces that would not require him having to come and set them up! Did he quote you a good price for all of your arrangements?

I have a Jenny Yoo and it took 4 months to come in. I think you're still ok!

I did not realize that if you picked up your flowers, you don't have to pay the fee!!  Now I want to look into florists, before I figured there wasn't any point if I had to pay $350 on top of it.

Any recommendations for florists in Playa?

Ladies!! I need your support! This country music concert is turning into a major pain in my backside. Yes I had a semi-bridezilla moment and asked their event planner to ask them to change their start time. LOL... There is a silver lining, a girl that originally booked the 17th of June actually canceled. So I may just change my wedding from June 16th to June 17th. However, I'm a little mad! I sent out my save the dates! Now I have 75 people to contact.

Crossing my fingers that my vendors are able to switch days and it's just a minor hiccup.

I wonder if I can get compensated or get something free for this hassle? Any suggestions?

HAHA  you guys are so funny with the brazillian posts!

For everyone using Marvin I'll let you know what quote I get for my flowers.  I'm having my flowers, 4 brides maids, 5 boutoneirs, 2 corsages for mothers and about 4 center pieces (depending on how many people reply) He said that the center pieces will be ready to go as soon as their delivered so I avoid the vendor fee. He won't have to set anything up for me.

Jess- Thats awesome! thanks for the pricing on the restaurant.  But, it says USD 1.00 for dishes. Is that per person ? A little confused sorry haha.

Welcome all newbies!!

yes!! the prices were really reasonable. My flowers are purple roses and green cymbidium orchids. I have 3 bridesmaids - $40 each. 2 corsages: $18 each. 6 Boutonnieres are $12 each. My centerpieces are probably 3 tall hurricane vases with candles and tea lights filled with either sand or rose petals- those run about $80 each.

Trying to post some pics he did for me but alas I don't speak Mac. LOL... Will try again with my PC. smile35.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
