Wayne wanted a spiritual (not religious) ceremony, so this is what i pieced together from the forums. Each section is a different color because I recall someone saying the minister forgot a few sections (hopefully this helps)

whew, ok here goes. hi ladies!! : ) after reading hundreds of pages of messages (I started somewhere around page 200...) I feel like I know most of you already. it has been really great hearing about all the ups and downs of destination weddings, not to mention gathering all the in-depth knowledge of the royal from previous posts and reviews. I've kept pretty good notes up until this point and am thinking of compiling a BDW FAQ document for the royal so that newbies can quickly catch up on the past year or so of questions. not that I want to deprive anyone of the experience of reading through everything, just that I found a lot of, "remember when we talked about XXX... I forgot how much/what size/where I could find, etc."

someone should write a book about this one day, hearing about the disasterous dress alterations and the mexicana airlines debacle - I DIED!!

ok, so a little personal information - my fiance and I both live in austin, he's a high school biology teacher and part time rock star (he sings in a 90s cover band), and I'm a marketing gal and part time groupie. : ) in 2009 we took our first vacation to the royal (it felt like an early honeymoon) and have been dreaming about going back ever since. two years before that, I treated my mom to a vacation there, so I'm hoping the on-site knowledge will help those of you who are planning without having visited.

here's the catch - we're not getting married until may of 2012. yes, that's right. not next year, the one after. : ) it just seemed like scheduling in 2011 would have been too quick, and we wanted to give our friends and family time to really prepare for the trip, hoping that would ultimately allow more of them to be there with us. if nothing else, I'll hopefully get my choice of locations/vendors (fingers crossed!! : )

so before this gets too long, I just wanted to thank you all for everything. I'm hoping I can return the favor by being a frequent contributor over the next year and a half. I think it's really great to have this resource for us girls and look forward to all that is to come. best of luck with everything. I'm eager to help!

Hi Kelly!!! Welcome!! A FAQ is a great idea - especially since the Royal likes to change their policies or it's dependent on your WC. Nice to see another Texas bride out there!!  cheesy.gif

I love Austin! I went to school at Southwestern University in Georgetown. Not sure if you've heard of it.

You're visits there will be invaluable since you already know the lay out of the place.

Congrats!!

Hopefully at least -- that would be weird in a hair salon! msnwink.gif

Whewww glad to hear that!  I had to read her response a few times before I had a Bridezilla moment quietly at my desk. :)

I laughed too and THEN panic set it, LOL.  I was picturing people dancing in between barber chairs. Bahhhhhhhh!!!!  Ok you girls just eased my mind, still waiting to here back from WC but I bet it was just a typo!  I HOPE, haha!

Thanks, JHarris. I was going to try to keep that info in there, too. For example, regarding flowers, I'd explain that the top nearby vendor is Maya Diseno but depending on your coordinator, you may or may not have to pay the vendor fee. I know one person pasted an email quote from a WC that said if the florist isn't setting up the flowers on the Royal property, there's no fee but others have been charged regardless.

I don't know much about Southwestern but am glad to hear from another Texas bride! I know there were several earlier -- it's great we can continue the tradition! : )

LOL... small liberal arts college north of Austin on 35.

I'm using maya diseno myself. my WC is out on vacation - but when she returns - I plan on emailing her all my questions at once.

I'm still irritated that I have to share with a country music concert. smile41.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
