Just a little tidbit for everyone...I booked my 2011 wedding in 2010 and I asked my WC if we could use the 2010 prices and she said YES!

Super excited!

Also, I got signed up with basecamp right after booking my date and my WC, Martiza, has responded in a very timely matter.  everything has being going great so far.  Knock on wood!  wink.gif

You are so lucky!!! Congrats on that!! My WC is a plays it by the book type person. I wish they all did the same instead of all of us getting different answers. I'm definitely jealous!! I can't stand that $350 vendor fee. arrrggghhh....

On a side note - Marvin (mayadisenoflorals) finally responded to me and sent me pics of what I wanted. He is a genius!! Exactly what I wanted and the best price ever.

Now if only Fernando can respond - that would be great!! huh.gif

Is anyone having Marvin do centerpieces for them? I was just thinking 3 hurricane vases with votive candles surrounding them. Marvin quoted $80.

Hey Ladies,

I am a couple of days away from paying my final deposit.  I am sure the following will sound familiar to many of you...of the 50 or so guests that said they would definately come, only 22 are confirmed and booked for our wedding on November 16, 2010.  On that note, I was contemplating whether I should still proceed with the Luxury Package.  Most of the stuff I don't really need, it was the number of guests that made us pick it.

So, my question to those brides who picked the Luxury Package and already had their wedding:

1.  Was the Mexican Trio at the Cocktail Reception worth it?  Did it make that much of a difference, or could we just pop an Ipod in the sound system?

2.  Was it worth having a soloist (harp, violin, etc) as you walked down the aisle?

3.  Was the 1/2 hour video that they provide any good?

If we do not choose these things and go with the Eternal Romance Package instead, we'll be saving ourselves $1,400.00!!!!!

Are some of your guests thinking of staying there? We have guests staying there. It is my favorite spot and we always go there every year.

Hey JHarris - She still quoted me the $350 vendor fee, so no luck there.  :(  But at least the on the other things we will save a few hundred dollars.

I still haven't decided which package to use; I guess when the time gets closer I'll know exactly what I want and need!  cool.gif

hey, I'm using him also and for center pieces we're doing these tall orchid bamboo things, it looks really cool.  Once I have him price everything out i'll let you know.  I know he's doing lots of Royal weddings right now but he does get back to you really fast.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
