I'm just catching up from being gone all weekend. I did the same thing, I'm not doing a trial. Maybe I'll regret it but you never know.....I'm just sending/taking pictures! :) I hope it works!

I'm going to email mine as well and I'll relay the information to you! My reception starts at 6:30 (mid-October) and yep, on the beach. :)

If I end up posting twice I apologize. I thought I replied then none of my posts showed up, so sorry in advance if I repeat myself.

I tried to find on the INAH website the permits but I couldn't find anything. I would love to take pics at Tulum. I've recognized the Gran Cenote in a few photos. Can't wait!!

I think I found the prices somewhere, I'll have to look them up but I was thinking $99 for a full day. I could be wrong though! Let me dig through my 'wedding folder'

Yes there is a web cam, it is $350. You have to request it through your WC, the only thing is it is difficult to see because it is pretty far away.

Yay thanks Jess! I had forgotten about that!

For our at home reception I ordered a topper for my FH- It is his college sport team themed. The bride is dragging the groom and he has the team helmet on his lap, it's pretty funny. But I don't want to bring that to Mexico it was pretty pricey to risk anything happening to...

I'm bringing a cake topper, but nothing too fancy. I love your at-home cake topper! :)

Has anyone else used Norma from MAC in Cancun?

Yes I booked Fernando and so far he has been great (communication wise). I really am comfortable with him! PM me if you have questions! :)

My WC said I can have him as a guest and he'll be able to come 3 hours before the wedding.  He is not staying over night at either hotel.  I'll have to pay for him and the other photographer as a non guest (non real resort guest)  at the wedding for our private reception.  Thats how I was told to do it with out getting hit with the $350 fee.  Hope this helps.

Is anyone making their photographer a guest for the wedding? I am thinking about doing this, but I am nervous that I could still get hit with the $350 fee. Not sure how they would handle that if I just listed him as a guest. I just think it is unfair to have to pay such a high fee when their photographer is not good. I don't mind making him a guest, just not sure if I will get caught for it...haha.

Does Fernando sometimes take a while to respond? I sent the deposit 3.5 weeks ago and he said he was going to confirm with his sister and get back to me, but so far nothing. I emailed him again last week and I still haven't heard back from him, so I emailed him again today.

it took him a little while to confirm my deposit as well. i just kept sending polite reminder emails so he wouldn't forget until I got a confirmation from him. good luck!

I had the same issue, but he said he confirmed my time. Oh well hopefully there won't be any issues.

Risa-

I am having my photographer stay at Gran Porto the nite before & night of the wedding (at the Royal).  And he is a guest at the wedding (he has to eat too!).  This avoids the $350 vendor fee.  I double checked on this.  I was told that if he is not staying at one of the hotels then I must pay the vendor fee.  The way it worked out for me, I'd rather pay to have him stay than pay for nothing (the vendor fee).  I am sure you could have him stay 1 night only, but I decided to do 2 nites.

The $100 vendor fee is the old rate.  All outside vendors are now $350 each!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
