ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

We got the Chapel booked!!!  Yay!!!!  Ryan and I will be getting married at the Capilla de Nuestra Senora just outside the resort, and then head back to The Royal beach for our party (I'm hoping to have marichis lead the way...).  I can't tell you what a HUGE relief this is, and it's SO beautiful!

Question about makeup:  Any reason folks are choosing outside vendors over Sapzul?  Ryan and I are doing a site visit in a few weeks, so I was going to try and schedule a trial at the spa then, but maybe someone out there has info I don;t?

Oh yeah, anyone here getting married over Labor Day weekend?  Thats when we'll be doing a site visit, so we'll be sure to wish you well while we're there!

Congrats Jennifer!!!!

As far as I know, the ladies have used Norma from Mac in Cancun, Fernando from the make-up pros or Adrian from Studio H/Waves. Hope you have a great site visit!!!!!

Has anyone used or is going to use a live band instead of a DJ?  Is this even do-able for a beach reception?  I emailed my WC asking her but you ladies are always so helpful, any feedback would be great. :)

msgalve I feel your frustration, however keep in mind that all weddings have turned out amazing!  I don't think I've read a negative thing from recent brides.  Also, before deciding on The Royal  we were in contact with many many other resorts and believe it or not their communication was even worse and some didn't even speak English, we would get Spang-lish responses and have to de-code them, it was ridiculous!

I'm still 8 months from my date so I havn't been contacting them too much lately, but I hope they get their act together for all of us.  Keep us updated!!

Chicago Bride, thanks for the encouragement. I know that all of the weddings (some king of way) turn out amazing. I'm simply saying that the communication has not been great, There are problems with current brides (even on this board)myself being one of them :-)  . Lastly-with the Spanglish (LOL)-I feel that some response is better than none at all.

As far as the band goes, I personally haven't heard anyone use one outside of mariachi. Good luck-hope it all works out for you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
