My prices are the same for my September 2010 wedding. I was told you can put 4 people on your "list" to come to your room 3 hours in advance

What is this "list" all about?

This is call from the US. I was told that if he is only there for 3 hours I do not have to pay the vendor fee for him. However like with everything with the Royal I know of other people who were charged.

2. How many guests are you having? If it is just a small group I would suggest meet in the lobby and go to Maria Maria's. They have large long tables. You could have someone get there a bit early and request them to put some tables together for you. However I do have to warn you if it is more than 15 people I was told we would be charged.

3. Small or large wedding party they don't do rehearsal's is what I was told. Although in my case I have a big group so I think I will just arrange our own rehearsal and see how that goes lol.

4. Some girls have not even given their food selection until the day they meet with the WC. I would suggest though to send it in with your final check list 60 says before. In case there are an issues or discrepancys you can iron them out prior to getting there and than having to deal with it when you get there.

I have almost all 85 of our guests on Mexicana as well. I contacted Jill my TA yesterday. She said as of right now they are honoring all previous flights. They have just stopped selling any more tickets for now. She said she would keep me posted if any more information comes about.

I don't remember what Di paid no but I am pretty sure it was more than that only because she has to come from Cancun. In general I noticed the make up artists charge more to come to your room. I was able to find Norma's e-mail in case you need it. nor_maccancun@hotmail.com

Thanks for sharing about Jill. I think I'm going to book Doranna for hair and do the paper/MAC thing you suggested for makeup.

I was there 2 years ago in November and we would all go to dinner together. We did a group dinner at Asiana and one at the Mexican restaurant at the Gran Porto. I think the key is to split up into groups. We never had a problem if we did it this way.

But you all were not able to sit together, no?

I did contact Fernando to get prices for my wedding next june 2011.

Here is what he wrote in the email:

this is my price list for hair and make up ok

trial hair and make up $180
day of the event $350

bridesmaids and family
only make up $90
only hair $50 up to $80

Does anyone know the rates for the hotel for hair and makeup for bridesmaid and family?

Thanks,

Heidi

I'll look for the fun bunch w/ the turqoise tumblers. also - since we arrive the morning of the 8th, I'll be able to see your wedding, too :) And then we can watch RBs :)

You on the beach or gazebo or garden?  I'll be on the beach at 4pm on 10/11/10

We only have 8 guests TOTAL...we were going to elope but the parental units, siblings and a couple friends wanted to come vacation :)   Having a huge wedding reception at home, on 10/23....invited 125 peeps! That is WAY more planning than this little wedding on the beach!

I got told the same thing. If you have guests at the Gran, such as bridesmaids, they can come to your room early to get ready without paying the fee. This is only on your wedding day and only a certain time frame before the ceremony. I better double check on that.

Ladies, who has the luxury package? I'm CONFUSED. In some places it says things like the bouquet and other items are free, then on the checklist there is a price. Can anyone help me with what is free and what isn't? Yikes, I'm 61 days away and haven't turned that in yet, oops. I'm a tad on the BEHIND side....

Hi :) a standard bouquet is included for you. If you want to upgrade to something like orchids than you have to pay the price on the check list and of course pay for the BM's bouquets.

So there are certain things that are already included with your package. I believe a bout is included for the FI as well. It should all be listed out what is included. :)

Hi ladies!  I should probably chime in here and say that I am about 99% sure I am going to book my wedding at the Royal for 2011.  I've just been browsing around on this thread and it's REALLY helpful!

Lady Di - Can you post or send your Funever photos por favor? :)

Thanks!

Heidi (another one!)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
