If everyone is staying at an all inclusive, how come there are charges for open bar and food service?  Did anyone just arrange for folks to have dinner around the same time etc?  Is this a dumb question?

I was there 2 years ago in November and we would all go to dinner together. We did a group dinner at Asiana and one at the Mexican restaurant at the Gran Porto. I think the key is to split up into groups. We never had a problem if we did it this way.

hey everyone, I have a quick photography question.  I know the resort uses Funever Photos.  Does anyone know of another bride who used them.  I was wondering how they came out.  I am looking at other photographers and found two that I may be interested in.  Are ya'll paying for a room for the photographers for one night or paying the outside vendor fee?

I did contact Fernando to get prices for my wedding next june 2011.

Here is what he wrote in the email:

this is my price list for hair and make up ok

trial hair and make up $180
day of the event $350

bridesmaids and family
only make up $90
only hair $50 up to $80

Does anyone know the rates for the hotel for hair and makeup for bridesmaid and family?

Thanks,

Heidi

Hi Ladies,

I know Fernando's prices do seem very high but he really is amazing. Based on the work I have seen he does an incredible job and all his reviews have been outstanding.

I was told for hair and make up you don't have to pay the vendor fee if they are only there for three hours. Again in true Royal form who you may get a different answer depending on what WC you have.

Here are the rates for Spazul for hair and make up.

Hair Services
Women’s Haircut
$45-$75

Men’s Haircut
$35-$55

Blow Dry
$30-$45

Flat or Curling Iron
$10-$20

Braids Half Head
$50

Braids Full Head
$100

Single Braid
$1 Each

Up Do’s
$40-$70

Make-Up
Trial
$45

Application
$60

You can try and arrange everyone to meet at a restaurant but I think if there are more than 15 people they won't let you do it. It really depends on how many people are going to be with you. We are doing a 3 hour private reception for our welcome party and are paying $30 pp for open bar and a 3 course dinner.

These price differences based on which wc you have is ridiculous!  I was quoted $60 pp for open bar and 3 course dinner!  We thought that was way too high for the welcome party, so we're doing the open bar with hot & cold hors d'oeurves for $30 pp for only 2 hours.

WOW!! That is ridiculous! I did book in November so I'm not sure if that is the reason for the price difference. But I would mention it to your WC. Who do you have?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
