Hey,

I just wanted to give an update on my Cocktail Hour fiasco. I just got it confirmed with Elsa that thanks to my original email from Angie that I will be upgrading to hot hors d'oeurves with the open bar for 10US per person (real guests).

Still no luck on chiavari chairs. Apparently they do not carry them anymore :(

That's great to hear! My FI talked to her a few nights ago and she said she was gonna get back to us on that later that night, but we haven't heard from her yet. I hope this means good news for us, too ;-)

I'd definitely like to hear more about prices and feeback about the MAC experience....I thought that the one in Cancun was close but that the Playa one was further away? I had only heard of people having the MAC people come to the resort to do their makeup? Is it close enough to walk and from easily?

If I remember correctly, it is located in a store called Ultrafemme and it is walking distance.

Ya it is right around the corner and in walking distance.. You come out of the resort take a left onto 5th ave and its about two stores down. They have Tiffanys in there and the MAC store up the whole top floor. You take a cool elevator right up.

Thanks guys!! The hard part (final) is done. I can now focus my attention on finding a new flight for my wedding since the new FAA laws that do not allow airlines to coshare bookings to Mexico. SO annoying!!

What are the new FAA laws?  I did a search and couldn't find anything...

I am not sure if it affects all airlines, but we were originally booked with American Airlines, but Mexicana was the operating carrier. The FAA no longer allows this. I found info on the American Airlines website. Plus to top it off Mexicana filed for Bankruptcy protection. So my fabulous direct flight to Cancun is no longer. I was going to drive to LA so I would have a direct flight, but now there is no point for me to make the drive for a flight I could get in Vegas although AA is being difficult about switching the departing cities....annoying!!!

Hey RB!

We are getting married on the beach at 4pm, the day after you! We arrive the morning of the 8th, so I'll look for your wedding on the 10th!! :)  How fun - we'll be there the same time!

I'm getting my hair done at the Spa. Need to figure out how to make the appt. I think I'll just call?  I was gonna do my own make-up, but seeing the posts about MAC is making me think of using MAC. I love MAC make-up and I'm hoping they can do a great job.

Still want to hear how that's done, though (go to the store? they come to you?)  I dunno - I do make-up really well, so I may just keep it DIY and let the pro's do my hair.

You are inspiring me to lose the 10lbs I want to lose!  I ride horses and live on a ranch, so am very active. If I just watch what I eat, I know I can do 10lbs by 10/11/10 :)  I can't go crazy with workouts ...no time. Will probably just do LeanBody for Her shakes for dinner. That should do the trick :)  (along w/ no/low carbs in general)

That is really annoying!!  More stress that you just don't need.  I'm sure it will all work out.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
