I've been back and forth with Jael.... today I was told that my date and time won't work at the Gazebo. I am rather frustrated (lots of crying)... as I already booked Kool Beach Club that night and del sol, so no changing now. I was ready to make a deposit, but it took them forever to get back to me, I had to email them for a third time today and finally it was... oh it's not available. I have no idea what to do sad.gif Maybe they can put us in the Gran Porto Gazebo?

Rosieposie, looks like we'll be down there the same time. My date is May 21, 2011 :)

i'm sorry, that is definitely not fun. when i was booking, i was originally booked for 3:00 at the royal gazebo, then they told me i would have to switch to the day before, at the gran! i was devastated!! i got it figured out to where i could have it on my day, at 2:00 at the royal gazebo. but then when we were on our site visit, i didn't realize the gran was SO close! it really is right next door. i dont remember their gazebo exactly, but if possible, i think that would be a good option for you. otherwise is there any way to adjust your times for the royal ceremony?

Thanks Ladies, I emailed back to see if I can book the Gran Porto... we have 70-80 who have given us a tentative yes. I think we will still stay at the resort but have the wedding fully outside. Going to email Matt at Del Sol, they've been super helpful and I am sure they will have excellent suggestions.

Oh good ya Matt is awesome and the def will have great suggestions for you. Did you originally not want a beach wedding? Don't worry everything will work out and probably even better in the end :)

Msglave - I cannot believe they messed up on your time as well. I know it is very frustrating right now but I really do think with all the new changes things will be much better. Especially with this new on line site. They will be able to keep track of all communications. Hang in there ladies just remember everyone before us had the wedding of their dreams and we will to.

I am almost ready to book my wedding at the Gran Porto Real and am trying to get through this whole thread! Does anyone know if there is a resort bar with music/dancing that stays open late at the Gran? I love having 5th Ave right there with all of the nightlife, but don't want our guests to have to pay more money to go out when they already paid for an all-inclusive. I read about the 24-hour sports bar, but I don't think that's the atmosphere we're looking for. D those that went down for a site visit or past brides have any insight?
Hi - I stayed at the Gran last year and got married there, and if you are looking for a real CLUB atmosphere you have to go to 5th AVE. I don't think the Royal has that either. Luckily, you will have lots to choose from - we walked down the beach and were able to find clubs. We only went out one night though. I was too tired with all of the days activites to stay out too late. Plus didn't want to spend more $ when you can drink for free at the hotel. Some of my friends just ended up staying at the resorts bars drinking for free every night. They had a blast! The 24-hr club is small. It will have food and drinks all night long which is perfect when you get back from the bars. Or want to keep drinking after the bars close!
Hope that helps.

i was wondering if i might be down there at the same time as anyone from here! what are your travel dates? i'm sure we'll see each other around the resort =)

sorry to hear your having problems with your ceremony arrangements! i hope you get it sorted out soon! the gazebo at the Gran looks quite lovely too, so if the time is important for you, it could be a good fit.

but if you have your heart set on the Royal's gazebo, is an earlier time available?

don't worry, you never know...let your WC know to keep an eye out case what you want does become available in the next couple of months.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
