I know some of you have mentioned Blue Parrott, but are you familiar with any of these other bars? I'm looking for somewhere crazy and then somewhere chill to hang with the girls on our first night.
hi lisa, we've been to alux and coco bongo (both playa's and cancun's).

alux was interesting since it's in a cave underground and all, could be better ventilated but it's a cave after all...drinks and music were good but didn't go early enough for dinner, heard food is so-so and didn't notice anyone dancing as they're more of a restaurant & lounge. It's a short (under $10) cab ride from the resort.

coco bongo in playa is next to the blue parrot. was quite fun, didn't have fire dancers or anything like that. Still had a fun atmosphere, but noticed that blue parrot attracted more people.

went to a foam party at the coco bongo in cancun, was so much fun! BUT noticed the foam left a weird smell afterwards but went away after a shower.

heard deseo is quite nice, on the rooftop of the deseo hotel right on 5th ave. but we didn't have time to go.

Hi Lisa,

I have been to Deseo many times and it is part of my bach party * :: HOTEL DESEO ::

I just love it there. It is a very relaxed atmosphere but it is a very trendy place. Because of that you are going to pay $10 for a very small mojito.

Alux is very cool and I had the food there, it was ok

Cogo Bongo is awesome but I love to dance as do all my girl friends so this is usually where I end up at the end of the night

I also love this place right on 5th called Tequila Bar Tequila Barrel Sports Bar and Grill in Playa del Carmen Mexico

Its a sports bar feel but its fun to just grab guacamole and chips and hang out

Hi ladies I havn't been on here in over a week and LOVE catching up on all the stuff I missed! My new WC is Katia and she has been very helpful, I think she just needed a few weeks to get settled in. Zulma will be my onsite coordinator a month before hand. Katia said that they want all emails/correspondence to go through the new website instead of emailing directly. Just an FYI.

I hired Vincent from Del Sol for wedding photograpahy and I'm sooo excited about it! I also tried on wedding dresses for the first time over the weekend and it went better than expected (I was dreading the process). So many choices and some were jsut too heavy for a Mexico wedding.

Restaurant next to the bar at La Tortuga called El Bistro amazing food and you can't beat the price

Msglave - I forgot see those hanging wooden lanterns, well they have tons of those all over 5th avenue. If you took off the dangly things they could be a really cool centerpiece with a candle in the middle. They may a;ready have them like that for the table.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
