Definitely 3 hours...My makeup artists arrived 45 min late at 12:45pm and I had 7 girls. We were barely ready by 4pm. It depends how many bridesmaids you have.

1. Has anyone used the hair and makeup people at Spazul? Were they good? Did you bring your own makeup or use what they had?

2. Has anyone used the Real Official Photographer - Funever Photos? Did they do a good job?

3. We're at a loss as to what to include in the welcome bags. We are thinking about creating a specail wedding logo to put on visors and playing cards, and we'll have straw/raffia fans on the seats at the ceremony. Does anyone have any other ideas?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to reading your replies!
Hi -
I used the Spazul and they were WONDERFUL! I really couldn't say enough good things about the place. I just used what they had and I LOVED my makeup and hairstyle.
I also used the Real Photographer - Funever Photos. If you email them, Gloria will send you the link to their website with photos of recent weddings that they have done at the resort.
I really liked them. Plus they were really efficent and I was able to get my video and album very quickly.
I think the most important thing about the welcome bags that I found out was to include a program of what will be going on that weekend (even if its just about the actual ceremony and who people are in the wedding).
We also went to the local MEGA store (kinda like a Target) and found lots of snacks and goodies to put into the bags. I bought some stuff at home and brought it with me (chapstick, bandaids, tums etc..) but the fun stuff we found at MEGA - my guests LOVED the candy and cookies we put in. Everyone used it. We also bought juice boxes that people could use as mixers for drinks to make in the room.
My husbands grandmother made all my OOT bags for me - really nice large fabric bags lined with large handles that people could swing over their shoulders and use as beach bags. All the girls used theirs all week, even though they brought beach bags to use! :)
hope that helps!
I have pics but I am at work, and don't have access to them right now.
Good luck!
Shannon

Thanks Ladi_Di! this is really good to know. So do you think maybe I should ask Fernando to come earlier than 11 for 6 bridesmaids and me to be ready for 2:30?

I had two makeup artists. Are you only having one? I would definitely tell him to come earlier if he takes about 45 min per girl.

Ya I only have 1 hair guy and 1 make up guy. Did you have your photog there the whole time from when you started getting ready to the end? Did they work on the bridesmaids first?

Sorry for all the questions and thank you so much for all the answers :)

Double check with Fernando how many people he is bringing with him. I found out that he is bringing himself, another makeup artist and two hair stylist for me and 3 bridesmaids. I only heard about this after I discovered a scheduling conflict between me another bride he is working with the same day. After I expressed to him that I didn't think he was allowing enough time for me and my girls that's when I was told about the additional people. My ceremony is at 3:30 pm and he is coming at 1 pm for us to be ready by 3/3:15 pm.

Thanks Girafexx! wow ya I need to double check with him on this. Samuel Luna my photographer was not going to have him come to 1:30 so the last hour of us getting ready, do you guys think that is ok, are you having your photog's for the whole time you are getting ready?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
