She has a travel case full of antiseptic wipes, needles, and other stuff. What I liked, though, was that the needles were in plastic cases that were sealed and she says, "Now I show you that I break the seal." I did not feel apprehensive about it at all after that. The one thing I will warn you about is that she does not baby-fy you at all like they do in the states. She doesn't say okay now you'll feel pressure... yada yada yada. No, it's just WAM you're stuck.
Hahaha thanks for that! I was nervous about everything being sanitary as well. How did you score the first appointment? I definitely want to do that!

LOVED your review, your pictures are absolutely gorgeous!

kenlyn - so glad it was so perfect like I said they should give people that option :)

msglave - I agree with Kenlyn Victor does not get enough credit I featured a wedding he did in Tulum Ale & Pedro Destination Wedding Tulum Mexico Destination Inspirations and just like Kenlyn's pictures you can see what great work he does I did not even put two and two together until I saw Kenlyn's pictures that it was the same photographer lol

By the way for past brides who had their reception on the beach was there an issue with sand in food. No one mentioned but I thought I would ask. We are thinking about doing a private dinner on the beach as a gift for our parents. Any thoughts?

Nope we did not have any sand in our food. The breeze was nice, but the sand does not move. I will tell you that while we were there they were running a special on romantic dinners for 199.99. There were, however, 5-6 on the beach at the same time.

Any thoughts? I just don't want to to feel like a "wedding factory" because I think the Royal is so gorgeous and perfect for what I want!! :-)
when i was there in may, there were a LOT. i would say maybe 6-8 per day. they were churning them out and i could see one on either side of me. i LOVED my location at playa norte at the gran porto, though. i think it's the most private by far of the two resorts.

that really bites the big one. i can't believe she had the gall to CALL you! unbelievable! i hope that you are soon able to let go of the things that went wrong and focus on the things that went right, the beauty of the day and the fact that you got to marry a great guy!

I do have about 5-6 that were not used that I brought home. They come in packs of ten and are VERY easy to transport.
i didn't get mine back either, and i DID check back into the office and ask for everything. my chair sashes, all the fabric for the huppah, and the flowers i brought were not able to be returned to me. rather disappointing!

my ceremony was at 6pm. i felt like it was the most private area possible. and though i didn't notice it during the ceremony, there are people in the background of my pics etc. but it doesn't bother me at all. it's part of getting married on the beach, in a public area.

Question, did any resent brides have the same dance floor as Duprk or had the wood planks? If that is the regular dance floor, we don't need to pay to upgrade.

Kenlyn, what did you think of Victor?
I didn't pay for a dance floor and mine lit up white and kinda yellow. It was very pretty.

No, sand is not a problem. We did the private dinner and the reception on the beach. By the way, there were other private dinners going on when we had ours, but honestly I couldnt see them. We also had a violinist play for us at ours, didn't know they would do that.

The beach was still so crowded at 5:30, 6:00 that we moved our recpetion to 6:30, there were still people but it was better by then. Also the beach in front of the gazebo is the most private due to the gazebo and the plants growning in front of the gazebo. We switched from Central beach to this because when we got there we didn't like Central beach, switching was the best decision for us.

Oh yes..totally agree with you! I saw a wedding ceremony got washed out...the guests were like..plz..say the vows fast! the rain is coming...then they all evacuated to the lobby!
The rain was strong..on and off thru out the whole day. Zulma said the bride can decide to move the reception indoor 4 hours in advance.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
