Did you feel like there were a lot of people around? Did you feel like it took away from the ceremony? This is the main issue that is keeping me on the fence with choosing the royal. Any feedback would be great!
I had a beach ceremony and it was BEAUTIFUL. All of my worries about people being around were nothing. I was so oblivious to people walking by. If they do walk by, they usually walk by far behind the huppa. Not the ceremony area. The only thing I cared about was my husband so it really depends on your personal preference. I am almost done with my review, just need to upload pictures!

As usual with the Royal...you can't upgrade your bouquet and pay the difference. At least that's what I was told. However, my WC did tell me that I can give the bouquet included in the luxury package to a bridesmaid.

The beach isn't private at all and is actually pretty short. It does depend some on the time of day, and what else is going on. For instance, when we were there in January there was a national convention of DJ's just down the beach, and there were drunk dj's everywhere! Luckily only the reception was on the beach but they tried to crash that. Also, keep in mind that the cruise ship transports pick up and drop off at the dock, so there can be some comings and goings from that. One other thing to keep in mind, is that you can't guarantee everyone will have their tops on on the beach. wink.gif

I don't know if you have looked at Barcelo Maya Palace, but they for one have a private beach where you don't get any comings and goings from people who aren't actually at the hotel. You might want to at least check them out if you aren't 100% sold on the Royal.

You can check out Weather Underground for past data on your date and dates around yours. If you go to Welcome to Weather Underground : Weather Underground and put in Playa del Carmen Mexico the current conditions come up. Then if you look for the link in the lower middle of the left side, you will see a link that says "Weather history for this location" or something like that. Then you can scroll around for different dates.

Hope that helps!

i just got married on the beach there a few weeks ago. my ceremony was at 6, so most of the major beach traffic had cleared out by then. but there are still people wandering around the beach, but i didn't even notice them during my ceremony. everything is just so fun and wonderful that everyone else is just a blur.

I was told the same. We are using an outside florist, Maya Diseno, (prices are EXCELLENT- Thanks to Lady Di for that suggestion) but I still got the bouquet in our colors- figured we can use it on as guest book table decor or something!!

Hey DianeP,

We are having our ceremony on the beach in a little over 2 weeks (Woo!) at 6pm. How was the weather- had it cooled off at all?

we had arrived to the resort the wednesday before our saturday wedding. it was typically upper 80s to 90s and humid (typical). for the wedding at 6, i walked outside and noticed that it had cooled off and was GORGEOUS weather for a wedding. nobody was sweating, and no one was cold (and i'm a total freeze-baby in a strapless dress). the evening couldn't have been more perfect. i absolutely adored that evening.

hoping for the same for your wedding - coming up so soon!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
