ROYAL PLAYA DEL CARMEN BRIDES: were kids allowed for the day? ...and other questions

Recommended Posts

For those of you not interested in the royal makeup and hair this is a cool place I saw:

Waves Beauty Salon Playa del Carmen by Canadian Hairstylist Trevor Kohlman | Wavesplaya.com

They actually do airbrushing for makeup which i've done before and I LOVED!!! They do a free trial, pick you up from your resort and drop you back off, and even feed you. seriuosly cheap too!

Yeah hi, thank for nothing! :-) I'm sorry you have to deal with her, too.

i just had my ceremony on the 15th. i brought some of my own decorations, including colored fabric for the huppah, chair sashes, flowers for the tiki torches, etc. they sky is the limit for what you can bring. i just dropped everything off to my onsite coordinator and she took care of everything at no extra charge.

good luck and happy planning!
Dianep, your pictures are beautiful, can you tell me if you used the resort photog or did you hire an outside photog?? Still trying to decide and would like your input??

Also, I am thinking of doing a cocktail welcome get together and I wanted to see what restaurant any of you may suggest at the Gran Porto? Also we will have about 26 guests, do I need to reserve a restaurant at the Gran for a friday night deal or can we just show up? I really dont want to have to pay obviously but if its just going to be a casual meet and greet do I still need to reserve for that amount of people? Also, do I need to contact the Gran to do that b/c I cant get any response from Michel at the Royal?

One more question... If I decide to hire an outside photog for our Royal PDC wedding and I pay for a room for them to stay over night, am I still responsible to pay the outside vendor fee since they will be guests of the hotel??

Thank you all!!!!!

So........I just went to open my 'Wedding Stuff' folder on my desktop only to realize that it's GONE. G-O-N-E. I can't find it anywhere on the computer, and go figure, I hadn't backed it up. This is 6+ months of every photo/link/idea/website/contract/email EVERYTHING I HAD in there. Fiance claims he didn't "accidentally" delete it but for some reason I think differently. UGH!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the random vent, I just had to get it off my chest!

You can get parasols on 5th?! Anyone know what size and colors they have? Like would I be able to get Pink or Turquoise? May make more sense to buy them there....

May Brides- So happy your time at the royal was so wonderful and your weddings went so smoothly!

Can any of the recent brides tell me what cake flavors ya'll picked? I am having a terrible time deciding!

Also, anyone care to give reviews on the reception food now that they are back? What to get and what to stay away from?

One other question.... sorry...

Should you bring beach towels from home or does the Royal provide plenty of towels to use on the beach and at the pool?

Thanks! We leave 2 weeks from today!

OMG!! Can you do that thing to your computer where you roll it back like a day or 2? It resets everything to that time, adding back anything that was deleted or changed.... Oh I hope you find it! I put mine on a flash drive and I thought I lost that one day, I was hysterical!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
