Where is your ceremony again? If I remember correctly, the sun starts dipping below the resort at about four to five and it cools considerably due to the shadow. By the time our reception started at six it was perfect. ill try to find pics at that time

Oh, that is a good area, shouldn't be too busy by 4pm. And you can sign up for those excursions at the Royal. There is a big area just off the lobby where there are a bunch of tour groups signing people up. They have HUGE books to look through. One day we went up there at 8am, signed up, paid and we were on the bus by 8:30 to the Mayan Extreme (just like the Tulum Extreme) Its very very easy!

I'm sure they do, Diana (sounds like Lynnie did the Tulum Extreme one). Usually they will have a few companies set up and you can go talk to the concierge or tour operator and they will set you up for a specific day and pick you up early in the morning. I would suggest doing any snorkeling excursions AFTER the wedding or you will end up having a bar (tan line) down your back (possibly)...I dont think I got one, but FI definitely did lol (its from the snorkeling vest which makes a sort of "T" on your back). Ya know, just in case you are wearing a strapless lol

They take you to 2-3 more snorkeling spots which are cool

I have usually signed up for these at the resort through concierge

Lisa,

You're ADORABLE, I loved these pictures! Do you think that was too much to cram into one day? How far was it from your resort? Wow I'm question bombing people today. Thanks for all your help ladies!

:-)

I did the Extreme one two years ago and the Snorkeling Adventure last year. They usually pick you up around 8:30 am and have you back between 3-5. They also provide lunch.

From playa to akumal it was about 35 min? and maybe 45-50 to Tulum? It's not bad though because it's cool to look around town and also chat with other people in the van (it will probably be better when we get married because maybe it will be our friends/family joining us). Definitely have that biodegradeable bugspray/sunscreen around the jungle and ruins (tons of mosquitos).

Take some disposable water cameras, but if not, they have a professional photographer documenting the whole thing (not in the water though) and they will make a CD of pics of you for like 20 USD.

Oh and uh...lol....if you are in a snorkeling group (and you see other ones)- play close attention while snorkeling and don't rendezvous with the wrong group like I did (I could hear my group leader yelling my name from a distance) blush2.gif

p.s. most places will provide snorkeling gear for you (but I'm ooged out by the thought of placing my mouth where someone's else's was, so I bought this and love it..darnit they didnt have pink though) It has a valve that helps you purge and it closes if you go underwater:

CandiceMarie - thanks so much for the info about the maracas, I just emailed them. I need btwn 40 an 50 pairs so I'm trying to see what they can do. My colors are purple and blue but I think if we put the other colors with the exception of red (my least fav color) on the tables it will add more life to the tables.

Jesmcan - love your invites, beautiful and very personal!! I had passport invites made but added ribbon to them and had my MOH (sister) and FI in assmbely line doing the ribbon and stuffing. I think they were nice to me only bc they knew I would become a bridezilla if they said a word LOL

LisaDso - your new siggy pic is too funny!
AHAHAAH good call I should have thought of that :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
