Your pictures are so beautiful! Looks like everything worked out in the end which is what all of us soon to be brides are wishing for as well.

Question about your pics, I saw the view of the gazebo from above and noticed that you had the chairs inside the gazebo. I really would like to do this because I think it gives more of an intimate and private setting, rather than having us at the edge of the gazebo and all the guests below us. Also I was hoping it'd bring the whole group closer to the ocean view. Also people will be in the shade cheesy.gif

What are your opinions about it? Was there any pros or cons to doing this? How many MAX would you think would fit? From your pic looks like you had about 30, was that to crowded or pretty comfortable?

Thanks!

I don't remember who it was, but a photographer posted on this thread a while back and said that the light conditions under those circumstances were not optimal. He suggested having the guests outside the gazebo, the attendants on the stairs to either side, and the bride and groom closer to the gazebo entrance. I may be able to find the post if I look hard enough...

I am pretty sure that it's in the central garden. Julie said they usually want you to have it in the same place, but since there's a wedding there, we can't have it. I'm not even sure that I want to have it anymore :-(

One night there were three receptions on the beach at the same time, one infront of the gazebo, one on central beach and on on pelicanos beach. They all had djs and they all were loud and having a great time! If I had to pick a beach I would pick the gazebo beach as it isnt as close to all the beach chairs. They all are far enough apart though that it should be a great time in all locations! They really do have lots of weddings at the same time but i cant see them putting a cocktail in the garden closest to the gazebo at the same time. Also if you are not happy with this they will do their very best to change things :)

jsmcan- the whole wc thing was so crazy and unprofessional with the us coordinators it broke my heart! Luckily the wcs at the royal really sympathized and switched me back to the royal gazebo for 6pm. Unfortunatly then the 5pm gazebo bride flipped that there was another wedding after hers (she didnt have a cocktail or anything) so i got moved to 4pm at the royal gazebo, which hilariously was the original time and place I had when I booked last year!
Thanks for the reassurance but not feeling very positive :_-( I'm getting ready to email my WC to see if the gazebo beach is available.

This is too close!

I think I got different prices. This is so frustrating!

It was a few posts back. If you go to Jesmcan's website, she posted their photos. Personally, lighting or not, I don't like the way it looks.

O.K.-I did a quick email search and am copying and pasting what my WC sent about cocktail hr.

"Ok the cocktail hour is $10 per person for champagne and cold canapés or $15 for champagne with cold and hot canapés or $20 for open bar with cold and hot canapés. You do get all the canapés listed, you don’t have to choose."

Also, the cocktail hr. is confirmed for the central garden. Why the hell are we paying extra for open bar and everyone is already paying money to stay and money for the reception? if I had to do it all over again, I would not plan to have my wedding here. Sorry ladies, but I'm not feeling very positive right now. I emailed Julie about moving to the gazebo beach. Keep your fingers crossed!

Hi yes it was me. It was Matt Adock from Del Sol who recommended this when he just did a wedding at The Royal.

I did have 30 chairs in the gazebo and i loved it because as you say it was very intimate. Also, the guests didnt have to sit out in the sun. Lighting was definitely an issue as alot of my nonprofessional pics are shadowed (it was a bit cloudytoo) but I wouldnt have changed it looking back as it was amazing walking down the terrace and having all of my family and friends in the gazebo. Looking out at the beach and water during our vows was awesome too. If I had of had a larger wedding I would put everyone outside though instead of some in some out.

here is an example of lighting:

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
