So we poked around in the evening to get a look at the receptions going on. One evening there was a reception just starting dinner and another was already dancing. The music from the dancing crowd was clearly heard by the people eating dinner it was as if it was their own DJ. Granted if both DJ's are playing at the same time I'm sure that its fine, but we didn't go back to check.

I have to admit this is one of my concerns about having a reception on the beach, I really want a beach reception but I'm highly considering the garden to avoid this.

Is anybody else concerned about this or am i freaking out for now reason?!?!
This was one of my concerns originally as well. I think the thing is there are alot of factors to consider. For example how big are the other weddings at the time of your wedding? If they are small there is a good chance there will be a good amount of space in between each wedding on the beach. Also like you said coordinating times. I would not want to be listening to dance music during dinner I would prefer to have nicer dinner music lol. So it is a difficult choice to make. Sorry not much help I know. I guess you just ahve to decide if this will really bother you just in case it does happen.

Yay! I'm using this piece of advice to tell myself it is NOT going to rain! :-)

What signifies a "private reception". For example, with the luxury packages we get a private reception.....soooo ok, i know kids come come, but what really makes it "private"? If i had a classic package and wanted a beach reception, wouldnt it be the same? Does anyone know?

lisa, yep, it's the same.

options are a semi-private, which is held is one of the resort restaurants. private receptions are an upgrade for some of the packages (like mine, the classic) and can be held in a ballroom or on the beach (i'm gathering that the royal also has garden areas, as well. hope that helps.

Last week when I was at the Royal I did see two receptions going on at the same time but one was on the beach and one in the garden area. I believe they do what they can to keep them as far apart as possible.

Of the 8 nights we were in Playa last week, it rained three of the days. One time was at night and the other two were random quick down pours during the day. The only significant rain was at night and the beach reception was just winding down. I was told they all jumped in the pool and had a great time.

You guys, I have had weird wedding dreams for past two night lol

Last night I dreamt that my wedding was in a church and I was spectating in the back pew until I realized "it's MY wedding!" So I go to the back and get ready and notice my skirt? is too big, so I ask my MOH to help. She gets those clamps that they use to fit your dress if it's too big at bridal salons to clamp it tighter lol. (oh and its a brown skirt lol) Then I look in the mirror and I have an 80's high ponytail to the side and i look jacked up haha. I turn around and they have already started walking down the aisle and stuff with music. I tell them to wait cuz i'm not ready and lookin busted, but they wont listen to me lol and MOH wont help me look better. They wouldnt even give me my veil or bouquet!

Bah hahaha

Anyone else have weird dreams?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
