I was told that it costs extra for the tiki torches?

My WC told me I could do a sand ceremony.

My WC said we could do two different entrees. We just need to mark the place cards.

Sorry to hear about the debit card. Did your money get returned yet?

Also, for ladies who planned to use Tiffany chairs-Jesmcan, I know you were-
my WC said she doesn't think they are available anymore. You might want to check with the resort.

Thanks to all you girls for the welcome! I read through a TON of the board and it's been so so so incredibly helpful! And I fully feel all the rage about the WC's! The wonderful Jess got me in touch with my TA and I couldn't be happier. BTW - YES, ordered the dress! It gets shipped May 21st!! AHHH!!! :)

Ok well, I thought the tiki torches were included too!
Good to know about the entrees I guess, is the entree the only thing you can have your guests chose on or will they do more than one salad and desert?

And I just asked Zulma earlier this week about the Tiffany chairs, they are still available, so not sure what that is about!

Maybe you can appoint someone to take the outsiders group to hang out. About two blocks away is a really fun bar called the Tequila Barrell. They always have $1 beers and 2 for one specials. Of course right up the street is othe bars to but this one has a really fun atmosphere during the day.

Tequila Barrel Sports Bar and Grill in Playa del Carmen Mexico

This is also just a thought but maybe you could contact the bar and ask them if you have a big group they could cut you a deal to have an open bar for a few hours or maybe the first 5 drinks on you. I know it is not ideal but just a thought. It may be sort of akward to ask guests to have to leave the premises and than on top of that have to pay money to go kill time.

For any older guests and wine lovers there is also SUR Steak House - Playa del carmen Sur steak house

Beware though this place is pricey but the food and drinks and above all the atmosphere are amazing.

Finally my favorite place of all La Tortuga Hotel & Spa Playa del Carmen - La Tortuga Hotel Spa - Playa del Carmen Riviera Maya Mexico

It is only a block a way, I know many of you have heard me talk about it. They have an amazing bar and it is just a little oaisis in the middle of playa. They are always willing to negotiate with a big group so def call them tell them what you are willing to spend and I am sure they can arrange something.

We are doing our first look here and pictures with our bridal party. We were engaged here and I cannot tell you how amazing the service and staff are here.

I was wondering how your dad decided on La Tortuga for the second part of his stay, now I know :)

I wanted to personally thank you girls because it was you guys that really helped me come up with this idea. You guys help inspire me daily and I can't wait to see all your amazing weddings :)

So thank you again
Congratulations!! I'm glad you were able to get everything squared away with your new venture, let me know if there's anything I can ever do to help!

Congratulations to all of the upcoming brides, your weddings will be beautiful! Try not to stress, I know it's easier said than done, but believe me, it's not just the royal that is slow to respond, it's every resort. And all of the resorts have the policy changes, price changes, vendor changes, etc.... just remember the reason you chose the royal in the first place and have faith that everything will come together. I know it's stressful planning from another country and not being able to take care of things in person, but as a former destination bride, I promise, everything does come together once you arrive in paradise. :) The wedding coordinators really do know there stuff and take good care of you!

Hi Girls,

I don't post much anymore but I keep up to date on all the postings! I just wanted to say that I am coming up on my 1yr anniversary this Sunday!! OMG! I can't believe how fast time flies. I wish I was back in Playa on the beach - what a wonderful place. I am so glad we got married there! I had experience with both hotels (staying at the Gran & getting married at the Royal). I know its been a yr and lots has changed, but feel free to ask me any questions!

Good luck to everyone!

Yes, I try not to worry about non communication...they do really take care of you when you arrive!

my onsite WC(Lili) contacted me last night and let me know that we will be meeting when we arrive that Thursday. I had emailed my WC and requested to schedule a meeting with the onsite coordinator so we could do our TTD on that Friday and Lili emailed me to confirm.

They are just so busy so bear with them. They WILL contact you if not, ask your US WC to do it for you. Julie has been a godsend!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
